True Blood - Part 4

Easily the best part of the entire episode.

Damn, this season and the last 3 can be summed up with;

Stupid Sookie Drama, BA Eric/Pam scenes, stupid Bill stuff, random and pointless Bon Temps things that take up too much time, funny Jason scenes, and not enough horror camp.

Well, if I had not known a head of the fact I would have not thought that this was going to be the final. It just did not have that feel to it.

The Bill outcome I say was a surprise I thought for sure they were going for the becoming human outcome so it was a nice surprise.

The Eric thing, while funny was...strange and rushed. I mean how many times could he have just slaughtered them all. Even when they had Pam all tied up he could have just killed them all in like 2-3 seconds with the speed they have shown to posses.

The wedding, goes against EVERYTHING Bill was talking about the last two episodes and well.. if this was on my PVR the FF button would have been used.. way too much time wasted on the wedding, in fact it should have even have happened.

Oh well. The show did pass time Sunday nights. Even if the quality dipped.
Dexter gone this is gone and GOT next season is far away my choices for Sunday entertainment is getting thin. :)

With Summer almost over, I have my NFL Sundays to look forward to (the first Sunday of the official football season is equivalent to Christmas morning for me). :)

If you're not a football fan though, The Walking Dead starts again in October on Sunday nights ... So there's that to look forward to as well!

Im ready for some zombies, though the Strain is doing a good job of tiding me over as well. :)

I guess not showing the face of the guy Sookie ended up with, in the producers minds, was supposed to be clever.

Well, it's not important to show his face, the point is Sookie found love and is building a family.
Btw, fitting ending for Sarah.

The little girl they got to play young Tara was uncanny! She had Rutina Wesley spot on.

For the past 6 years, I've been a huge fan of True Blood. I was hooked after the first episode ended. I was even lucky enough to meet Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, and Sam Trammell at a promotional party here in Las Vegas back in 2009.

Creator Alan Ball left the show (due to creative differences with HBO execs) a few years ago and its quality along with its ratings suffered for it so now all good things must come to an end. I'm going to miss the show dearly.

From the mysterious serial killer to the Maenad to Russell Edgington to the witch to The Vampire Authority to Warlow, it all came down to this.

I was in the tears as that is not how I wanted the show to conclude. The selfish fan in me
was hoping Bill would be cured. Him and Sookie live happily ever after
. I hated the ending, but it made sense.
Bill did all these terrible things and just wanted it to be over with.
Parting is such sweet sorrow. :(

At least the book ending was better: Sookie settled down with Sam.

RIP True Blood
2008-2014

I will agree that the episode as a whole but pretty lackluster but I'm not going to lie - the ending with everyone at the Thanksgiving table got me.

What can I say, I'm a sucker for happy endings. Especially after all the crap these people went through. I just wish Tara had been there - she got royally screwed over like no other.

It was an uneven ending but I liked it enough, glad it was over and that it was nowhere near as bad as Dexter's or HIMYM's down-letting finales.

Yup

So far the only 2 series finales that left on a high note were Breaking Bad and Spartacus.

Hopefully Boardwalk Empire Series Finale will be just as epic as those two.

Is that the Uk one on BBC Three?
yep
Never heard of it.

Zombie show but with a bit more emphasis on the social allegory side like the George A.Romero movies.

The show is set in a post-Zombie Apocalypse world in which the Zombies have been cured of being mindless killing machines although remain the living dead.

What a stupid ass finale. Other than Eric and Pam being awesome, it sucked. I am surprised that they actually went through with Bill dying...though I still think it would have been crazier if they had the balls to kill him off in Season 5.

At least I can say that I don't have to feel some strange sense of obligation to watch this show only to be disappointed. In retrospect, to see a show that started out with two spectacular seasons only to fall so low truly is depressing. In the summer of 2009, this show was the cream of the crop. Then it was all downhill from there. Season 3 had a dip in quality but was salvaged by the best villain of the entire series. And so on and so forth. Good riddance, you piece of s*** series.

:down

I've said for a while that they should have ended the series with season 5. Everything in this show was slowly building to the ultimate revealing of The Authority. Obviously, there were other things happening along the way, but we just kept being introduced to higher and higher ranks of vampires. They're finally revealed in season 5. This was the peak. Bill should have consumed Lilith's blood mid-season, with the series/season finale being his ultimate demise and the destruction of The Authority. The end.

The worst part about Season 5 is that the ending of Season 4 set up things up so well and created so much hype. I still remember geeking the hell out when Alcide found out that Russell was dug up.

I really miss the stupid fun of the first 3 seasons at least. It's a shame they couldn't have held on to that longer.

There was a part of me hoping Russel edgington was going to pop out of nowhere and just decimate that thanksgiving feast...

I still haven't watched the final 3 episodes. I'm not sure that I even want to....

This was a ok finale, I still think the heard should have been thinned a bit but I overall enjoyed it. I honestly would love a Fangtasia/Eric and Pam spinoff but I don't think it would happen.

The sad thing about this show is if they had followed the damn books it would have been a 100x better show. Sure aome stuff would have to be cut but the stories in the books were sooo great. You have like 14 books to draw material from and I feel like the took like 5 plot points from the books, tops. That aside I will miss Jason as a character so damn much, he honestly has to be one of the funniest characters ever on television.

An OK finale to an average season. It was a much better finale than it would have been with a non-sense showdown between vamps and Yakooza @ Sookie's house (let's admit it anyway: Eric & Pam would have killed them all in seconds). I think that would have been an awful finale or even more dull that TB was in the past seasons. But moving on, this last episode was heavy from an emotional point of view. Surprises? None really, apart from the fact that Bill died (although it was pretty much obvious that he wanted to be over with). I must admit that him getting warmer, Sookie being able to hear his thoughts and so on, all of this led me to believe he was going to become human somehow, getting cured by the fairy blood! So in the end, it was a small surprise when Sookie went down to finally put him out of his misery.

TB just left me... empty. Maybe I was expecting too much from the show anyway. Like I said, decent way of ending it though.

The wedding, goes against EVERYTHING Bill was talking about the last two episodes and well.. if this was on my PVR the FF button would have been used.. way too much time wasted on the wedding, in fact it should have even have happened.
In all honesty, there really wasn't anything worth for using that time. There was no real villain, Sarah Newlin's plot was already wrapped when Eric, Pam & The Yakooza found her, Bill was pretty with his fate sealed. The only thing remaining was for Sookie to move on and for us to see Bill's final moments. Which is why I think it was an acceptable finale, considering the way things went on this season and in general. A major action-fest would have made no sense any more, I rather see what happens to the characters.
