Long Halloweeen FTW :applaud

That Nightwing preview is awesome, love the way Dick's relationship to Two-Face is being done, since his not knowing of Harvey pre-scarring coupled with Two-Face bashing him as the Boy Wonder makes Dick not really have any sympathy for him. Awesome that
Carol is still alive (and apparently became sexier)
. That should throw some great dynamics in. Also, Doug Mahnke doing the art!? :shock Yes!

Also I must say I prefer the way Tomasi and Dini are referencing past ages of Batman more than Grant is. Morrison may be using them more heavily but the crazy amount he is using rather than spreading the influence evenly really feels -to me atleast- like he is bombarding me with them. That is why I loved Harvey's Silver Age blimp plot complete with 22 blimps and raining dollars.

Btw i had a question regading Two-face. In Hush hes all normal, altho bald. Is "Batman: Face to Face" the canon story where he becomes Two-face again?

Correct. :yay:

Just heads up also to the Harvey fans. Two-Face shows up in this weeks Detective Comics by Denny O'neil. Previews below

Yes I was reading this earlier, what did you make of it Greg?
I don't know if he'll be playing a large part or not, but I certainly love the way two-Face is drawn here, and his dialog is very good too. Even if he doesn't play a large role atleast he's getting some attnetion.

Mind you, I'm still waiting for someone to write a story that includes him in the five years after Hush.

Well, it does look like he'll play a part, especially as this looks like a Nightwing story and they're really been pushing Two-Face as Nightwing's Joker. The way he's drawn is just beautiful, but maybe I'll skim through the issue to see if he plays a bigger part in all of this. Also, it seems like they want to focus completely on the evil side, such as Harvey saying that wasn't him who helped him and in the recent Nightwing preview Dick tells Two-Face that the Harvey persona has been long gone and dead. We'll see. All and all, I'm just happy to see all these constant Two-Face attention all of a sudden!

Good points, I'm really looking forwar to this idea. And to be frank I'm also loving your idea of Harvey's good side recessing for a while. Its happened with his bad side, but what if his good side was overpowered for a time? That IS an interesting concept!

Didn't the new comics come out today btw? Noone has made a post or anything yet. :,(

Okay, well I guess I'll start off by saying the Detective Comics issue took place after Nightwing. Not much Harvey in neither of them although he does leave a big mark in both.

Basically in Nightwing, Two-Face and Nightwing battle it out with words and Two-Face reveals that he is mighty proud of himself for "toughening" up Nightwing back when he was 13 years old as Robin. I did love Two-Face acting out the beating by swinging an invisible bat. It seems Dick was trying to get into Two-Face's head and get him ticked but Two-Face is smug and continues messing with Dick and finally promises that he'll basically find a way out of Arkham and that he has big plans for Nightwing once he gets out. So there, we can expect some more great Two-Face vs Dick stories! You know how much I love those! :yay: The end of the issue I pretty much liked. Dick breaks the free fall record as he leaps from above Earth, in space, and drops down and in the end shares quality time with Tim and Alfred, Bruce notibly absent. Oh, and Dick's girl, Debra, leaves to go the California after all the crazy NY mayhem. I guess you can say in a very subtle way, Harvey's actions of punishing NYC has lead to Debra leaving Harvey. Heh, good job. :word:

In Detective Comics, again a Nightwing central story where it seems as if Two-Face will play a big part. He has escaped and is sharing space with a few thugs, one a stubborn nut named Gracchus. Basically we meet the face of Gotham, a beautiful woman by the name of Millicent Mayne, actress and fund-raiser. Everyone adores her except for Gracchus who offered her some deal and she flatly refused. That all happened during the beginning of No Man's Land where an earthquake strucked Gotham. Mayne managed to escape on her own and Gracchus was saved by Harvey. Flashforward to now and we learn the grudge between Gracchus and Mayne continues. Gracchus asks Harvey to help him bring her down and Harvey flat out refuses and states it wasn't him who helped Gracchus but someone else. Gracchus lets it go but later crashes and party hosted by Mayne. The big surprise is that Gracchus puts on a mask that resemble's Two-Face and splashes acid on Mayne's face, scarring her. In news of this, Nightwing seeks Two-Face while Two-Face gets pissed for what Gracchus did as Two-Face himself admired Mayne and leaves after the coin decides to let Gracchus live. The issue ends with Nightwing knocked out in a warehouse along with a pizza boy filled with gasoline and fire! The issue is in fact a little weird, though. Mayne is narrating the story and seems to know everythign about Dick and what he'll be doing, and she speaks as if she is Gotham City herself. It's actually pretty interesting.

I myself can't wait to read part 2 and see what happens with Harvey. I wonder what's going to happen with Mayne and how Two-Face will get out of her gripes (if she believes it was Harvey who scarred her) and Nightwing. Good stuff from me! :2face:

I'm abit confused about the Superman and Green Lantern (the black one, not hal jordan) talking with Nightwing and taking a corpse to JLA safe? Or what is inside that box, it seems like a coffin or something for... Batman? =P

Hmm, I thought that had to do with one of the previous arcs from this series where there was quite some grave robbing going on of deceased heroes' graves to gain abilities from them or something of that nature. And the black Green Lantern is the awesomely underrated John Stewart. :cwink:

I was reading Nightwing 150 and it turns out Two Face watched Star Trek.
He kills a henchman after the guy says he never watched Star Trek.
Sometimes I think Joker is a better boss then Two Face:2face:.

BATMAN: BATTLE FOR THE COWL #1

Written by Tony Daniel
Art by Tony Daniel & Sandu Florea
Covers by Tony Daniel

"Batman: R.I.P." and FINAL CRISIS saw the end of Batman. Now, months following the disappearance of her protector, Gotham City sits at a precipice and it may be too far gone for Nightwing, Robin, Commissioner Gordon and the rest of the city's heroes to save the day. Amid the fires, rioting, looting and gang warfare, one question rings out from the souls of Gotham's desperate citizens: Where is Batman?

With guest-stars galore, the destruction of a sacred Gotham City institution and an ending that will have everyone talking, this 3-issue miniseries event written and drawn by Tony Daniel (The Tenth) features the battle to take on the Mantle of the Bat. Who has earned the right? Who thinks they deserve it? Robin? Nightwing? Jason Todd? Two-Face? Catwoman? Batgirl? Who will ultimately win the BATTLE FOR THE COWL?

Man, Harvey's gonna be fighting for the cowl?! :wow:

I am a big fan of the Two-Face character. I think he is a tragic figure that haunts Batman as his one of his greatest failures. Maybe if he had acted faster in the early days he could have saved Harvey Dent mentally if not physically, but he is too far gone and what haunts him now.

I think the definitive Two-Face story is The Long Halloween and Dark Victory.

It is a great arc of Harvey Dent the hero and friend to Batman and Jim Gordon to the villain. And it is a slow process where they really try to save Harvey and he even as Two-Face saves Jim Gordon's life as well as Batman. But ultimately he becomes a villain. However, he is a villain who, as Joker said, "Still wants to kill the mob. Same old Harv."

It is also why I appreciated the movie's version of him. I always thought Two-Face worked better as a fallen ally and a face of vengeance (pun intended). I sometimes wondered if it would be better if Two-Face died from his fall at the end of Dark Victory and thus I respected and appreciataed Nolan's take in his movie.

Also, I read HUSH recently and wanted to know what other people thought. I know of no stories of Two-Face between Hush and Face-2-Face, but didn't this seem like a lost opportunity? I really wish they had explored a "cured" Harvey Dent more. This is a guy who has taken control of his madness that caused him to betray his beliefs for the last 10-15 years and was a killer. What kind of ambiguious and interesting figure would be born?

I was disappointed with him just becoming Two-Face again almost immediately.

Anyway, I'll check out that Nightwing issue, which seemed interesting.
