I really don't understand what's taking Dini so long to write Harvey in his run!

Speaking of, in the animated series Harvey Dent was Bruce Wayne's best friend. In the comics, they never really had much of a relationship except being partners and friends when Bruce was Batman. In the recent Two-Face: Year One, it was established that Bruce and Harvey were in fact best friends. What do you think of all that? Do you like the two being best buds?

I felt it worked really well in the animated series, especially how it meant Bruce had a proper friend who saw past the charade into who he was. Two-Face Year One I thought did it pretty well, but to fit continuity better I feel it should've had a falling out between the two as he felt Bruce became more obsessed with women than with justice. Would've made a nice mini-tragedy for Bruce as well, and explained Dent's bitterness to Bruce in TLH and why Bruce was funding him anyway.

New Nightwing issue tomorrow! Two-Face continues his guest appearance as the big bad. Bound to be awesome with Tomasi writing!

Yes! I love this arc so far, a great advancement in two-Face now that one personality can fully take control and make the other not know what's happening, as well as the badass levels hitting 100. Harv was a great shot before, but now trained by Bats and flipping Deathstroke!?

Yeah, I myself prefer the reddish or so flesh color, especially Tim Sale's version, but the different interpretations of the colors don't really bug me, to be honest. It doesn't put me off of the story, I suppose due to it not being the "realistic" color even in his first appearance (green). So it's whatever for me. But if I got to choose, of course I'd pick the brownish/reddish.

Speaking of Harvey

Conclusion of Nightwing's Great Leap came out today, Nightwing #150. First off, I'm not too sure what to think of this issue. It was really well written and it was a great read, but Harvey was... weird. I saw Tomasi decided to go with the conflicted sides actually conversing and arguing with each other. Okay, it's been done before with the character, so it's not too bad. But he kills two guys no problem without even caring to flip his coin. He just shoots them! Maybe he flipped it a few minutes before but we haven't seen it. Also, from the way they introduced him in this issue with both sides arguing against each other, I felt that could have been pushed more during his final battle with Dick, which was good, but I felt maybe the Harvey side should have been conflicted in what he was doing. It was like both Harvey and Two-Face agreed that NY needed to be scarred due to Nightwing. WTF? Am I the only one who found it weird?

Anywho, Two-Face's plan was crazy, though! Especially when he started dropping the acid on the folks! Yeesh!

Overall, it was actually a good Two-Face story despite the awkward characterization in this conclusion.

Anyway, I read Nightwing #150 and loved it. Sorry guys, but I can let go of the two kills as a result of that "To Burn" coin flip, which set him off. Heck, he does more out-of-character moments in Robin: Year One and that's one of his best stories. The grace scene where he and Two-face argue was so sad, I loved how Don Kramer repeated his earlier "schitz out" pose before he let loose with the bullets (I don't care what anyone else says, I love Kramer's art in this).

I think you're getting his motive a bit confused though Greg, Two-Face's true revenge was against the people of New York for allowing the mob and criminals to control it, as it had controlled Gotham City. Nightwing just made it a twofer.

I'll say more later but I have to go.

It was decent. The only reason I'm picking it up is because we only have like 3 issues left until it gets cancelled.

Okay, thoughts on Nightwing #150 here:

I really liked it. Was it the best it could be? Don't make me laugh. Wolud it have benefited from a more personal conforntation? Yes. Was it still a wildly enjoyable ride though? Heck yes. Two-Face going for a twofer (naturally) by getting his revenge on the city that allowed people like the mob to flourish and kill people like whats-her-name to die as well as giving Nightwing the same sense of loss he has was a great setup for me. The surreal blimp scene while a bit exaggerated was very fun, thrilling and epic. Above all this was a Nightwing story, and though the challenge should've been a little harder it was great to see him conquer his fears and demons while giving hints of his possible future as Batman.

Two-Face's characterisation may be off to people but it is really a matter of perspective. Two-Face saw in New York the same cowardous citizens who let Gotham go to rot, and following the failure of heroes Harvey believed in (which btw is one of the greatest Two-Face ideas ever in my opinion, that while Two-Face is an enemy to heroes, Harvey believes in them and trusts them to save the day), and the death of a loved one Two-Face took matters into his own hands to "rectify" the situation. The acid is a very poetic touch considering that it transformed him into a monster while he used it here to deter people from becoming ones themselves by punishing their ignorance.

Also, the graveyard scene was fantastic. Man, I really felt sorry for Harvey here, you got a real sense of how awful it must be to have this murdering bully in your head keeping you out of control and forcing you to commit the worst of atrocities. He is now understandably pissed considering everyone failed him, another irony being as Nightwing puts it at the end that it was he himself that let evil win. Sadly this is the case of Harvey Dent.

So there, I loved it. Sue me, but I find too much chocolately goodness in it to hate, even if there are flaws, I don't tihnk they are prevalent.

I hope I made you think a few things differently Greg, I suggest rereading the issue, I did and you pick up on a whole lot more, trust me.

Also, is it just me or is there still one last part to this storyline? I was certain there was one more issue before the Ra's Al Ghul part.
