Two-Face/Harvey Dent Thread

Has anyone read Batman: Jekyll & Hyde? If so, would u recommend it?

Also, I read HUSH recently and wanted to know what other people thought. I know of no stories of Two-Face between Hush and Face-2-Face, but didn't this seem like a lost opportunity? I really wish they had explored a "cured" Harvey Dent more. This is a guy who has taken control of his madness that caused him to betray his beliefs for the last 10-15 years and was a killer. What kind of ambiguious and interesting figure would be born?

I was disappointed with him just becoming Two-Face again almost immediately.

Anyway, I'll check out that Nightwing issue, which seemed interesting.

Awesome to have you around, man! Welcome to the thread!

I myself would have LOVED to see Harvey's time as protector of Gotham City before Face 2 Face. It was a complete wasted opportunity and would have made the process of him becoming Two-Face again a lot more tragic, especially if readers grew to love Harvey as a good guy, saving lives and taking down some of the baddies. We know he enjoyed being a hero as he felt threatened by Batman that Batman was going to take it away from him, but how come we don't at least see Two-Face having more of a "hero" thing to do saving lives just because the coin felt like it that day?

Eh, it's okay. It gets mixed reviews from different people. I see the story as great idea, but poorly executed. For me it was just boring. Lots of things I did like, for example Two-Face breaking Batman down and trying to see what makes him tick and Two-Face creating a drug to try to get everyone's sides into one which drives them insane, but a lot of stuff get's dropped so suddenly to get to the next chapter and I feel the potential of the story never really gets to where it could have been. So take that as it is. Some people I know loved it, some didn't. I found it to be a rather dull read. Art is nice though. Reason I'd buy it is due to it being a Harvey story. Speaking of, there is actually an interesting back-story on the Two-Face aspect which I felt was in fact darn interesting which lead to an interesting battle between Harvey and Two-Face near the end.

I wish we had a few good stories with Harvey Dent before he becomes Two-Face. I don't want to keep seeing his origin retold, but it would be nice to see some comics about his early partnership with Batman.

Holy darn. Darn interested to see Raimondi's Two-Face!

First things first: The Art! I love it! The Penguin looks so cool with that overcoat. Love the "worn" look of the clothes too, not old, just looks like like they should, their favourite and oft used costumes.

Second: Why are they breaking out Arkham again? Seriuosly, as if the Knightfall comparisons weren't enough already. And is this a one shot like the others or a mini series? I'm assuming miniseries with a cast like that.

We don't know that Riddler is a villain again. It says Catwoman, Harley Quinn, and Penguin are all featured, too, and they're supposed to be on the straight and narrow at the moment as well.

Eh...I don't know. I'll wait for reviews before I pick up any tie-ins coming out in the next couple of months.

I know what you mean, but my Harvey obsession is making me poor. :csad:

I known, man. I want to pick up every comic, but money's tight right now. I still can't believe I picked up every Secret Invasion tie-in...yes, I'm an idiot.

Anyone ever read Batman #328-329 (1980) by Marv Wolfman and Irv Novick?

Two-Face gets plastic surgery and goes by the name of Carl Ternion. He dates his former wife Gilda, who doesn't know that "Carl" is really Harvey. Prior to this, Sal Maroni had killed Gilda's second husband in order to infuriate Two-Face. Two-Face gets his revenge on Maroni and Batman figures out the truth. He and Gilda set a trap for Harvey, with Batman confusing him by showing a video of the infamous courtroom scarring. Gilda convinces Harvey to get help because she still loves him. Dent, without flipping his coin, chooses to go back to Arkham.

Sounds almost like The Joker story "Going Sane".

Hmm. Anyone have scans? I haven't heard of that story.

Check what I got in the NYCC from Dan McDaid (Image's Jersey Gods) this afternoon! :woot:

Wow Greg, that picture is great :D
And...is Harvey...smoking?

Haha, yep, it's definitely the Two-Face side. Imagine if he only had one blackened lung! Heh, but yeah, I gotta get this framed!

This pic reminds me of Johnny Depp as Two-Face.
