The Dark Knight Two Face Revealed

Please people don't let this ruin it for you.

Yes he dies and he is a little and I mean a little disappointing. Of course I'm saying this just because Two face is my favorite Batman villain. I'm not sure he needed to die, but it isn't a bad death and he is in it long enough and badass enough to get your fix. Or at least I thought so. It is not another Venom.

I do wish his voice was better though.

My best mate will be disappointed with this. Two Face is his favourite Bat villain.

Moriarity from Ain't It Cool News mentioned it on some forum and I've read a few other confirmations that back it up.

He isn't in the movie as Two-Face for long and he actually gets killed off on-screen with his funeral being shown instead of being much of a secondary villain or set up as the baddie for the next movie.

I'm gonna have to call Bull**** on that one.

Saw the film at a preview screening last night and can say:

Two Face most certainly appears to die in this film. I was a little disappointed at first, but after discussing it with mates afterwards, I felt that they did Harvey's story justice and it would be pointless bringing him back for a third. He was Two Face for the final third of the film, but the most interesting aspect of his story was his 'fall from grace'. To bring him back in the third would essentially amount to repeating the final scenes of The Dark Knight - I just don't see the point?
I also need to ask other people who've seen its opinions on this:

Did Batman not tackle Two Face over the edge of where they were standing and therefore, is responsible for his death? It's something I haven't been able to stop thinking about!

Would you be able to confirm something for me mate in regards to Two Face

At the end of the film i have read on these boards and also on other sites that you see Two Faces body at his memorial/funeral. And for the life of me i cant remember seeing him. The last shot i remember seeing him in was the one with Gordon and Batman just before Batman goes on the run.

Hey not a worry... I'll just post in here what I sent in response to another member's PM.

Other members, please only read if you absolutely need to know what happens in the final moments of the film!

Basically, Two Face suffers a pretty hefty fall. One of the other characters suffers the same fall, but you could say that he/she was a little more prepared than Two Face. Whilst one got up, the other, being Two Face, was simply lying there motionless.

People saying that you see Harvey's funeral are sort of incorrect... it's more of a memorial service - I don't recall seeing a coffin or anything else suggesting his 'body' was present.

Having said that, there was nothing else to suggest or hint that he'd be back; no equivalent of a Joker card ala Begins.

As I was saying in the thread, his story felt conclusive so I wouldn't see the point in bringing him back. But be assured that his story was great... very tragic!

Edited to say: I'll be seeing the film again in a couple days time and will pay more attention to that scene :)

Thats exactly how i remember it.

People said it was a funeral but i thought it was more of a memorial service. I never seen his body after the fall. Neither did my mate who seen the movie also.

Thanks for that

In The Joker's first comic book appearance Joker died and in the second appearance it was revealed that The Joker faked his death.

No, he was jailed in his first story Batman #1.

Any no, Nolan won't pull something like that. Harvey's story IS TDK. He won't piss all over that if he makes a third film.

Now I remember, actually Bill Finger was supposed to kill The Joker off in the second comic book appearance but instead kept The Joker alive.

Thanks, that was very interesting.

I don't quite understand why he seemingly dies in a similar way that Two-Face dies in Batman Forever (falling), and since he's such an iconic character... it sounds like a waste. Especially since he doesn't die in the comic books, as far as I know.

^ people talk about Bale's very last line in the film, the same which closes the movie!... What line is that exactly??? I really wanna know:)

I thought Gordon has the last line in the film.

^ does he??? I'm not sure about anything any more:)

I was very impressed with Aaton Eckhart in this movie. i knew Ledger would be brilliant, but in all honesty,i think Eckhart could've also carried the movie. Or he could carry a third one if it turns out, well... you know. :)

you're absolutely right... and i felt exactly the same way as you do now... but the more i think about it, his demise at the end of the film makes his fall (not just the physical fall :)) that much more sad and tragic.

I'll Write This With Caps So Everyone Can See It. I Just Saw The Movie, And I Can Definitely Tell You That You Don't Get To Know If 2 Face
dies Or Not. He Could Just Perfectly Be Unconscious Lying On The Floor.

Yeah, I Know You Get To See His Left Eye Is Open And All, But, Hey, Remember He Has No Eyelids, How Would He Close It? So It's For You To Decide. Harvey Dent Sure Did Die For Regular Gothamites, But That's What Batman And Gordon Want Them To Believe, They Have Their Reasons. So, There's A Funeral, Big Deal, It Also Has Its Reasons. But Again I Tell You, I Didn't See Two Face Dead, He And Batman Fell From The Same High And Batman Survived. Besides, I Highly Doubt Batman Would Have Touched Harvey's Face If He Was Dead.

Just My Two Cents.

I have a question for those that saw the film.

Not a question about Dent and his rise and fall but one for Two Face.

I keep hearing how Heath did a phenomenal job as Joker but what I'm wondering is, would you consider Eckhart as a truly great Two Face or was there a lot of room for improvement?
