The Dark Knight Two Face Revealed

Not to mention the fact that didn't he and goyer have a three movie arc in mind, I swear if he just crammed his ideas for the third flick all into the last half hour of TDK I will be sorely dissapointed.

agreed.

If the rumors are true then what the hell was all that chatter on Nolan's part about not killing off antagonists. WTF?

Joker was the main antagonist and I think he was going to continue to terrorize Gotham in the next film but an unexpected death occured which is why this Two Face thing is harder for us too swallow in regards to a third film. I get the impression now that Nolan's Two Face wasn't meant to be seen as a standard villain in this film more than just a tragic story to carry the film.

yea, they definitely leave it open for both Joker and Scarecrow to come back from what I've heard...

And with the way it ends, with Gotham and Batman the way they are, it wouldn't make sense for there not to be a third one, IMO.

I think a third movie would only be satisfactory if either this revelation is false, or The Joker is recast. As I said above, this looks like Nolan's declaration that he is finished with the franchise, so the most likely outcome seems to be that a different director will opt for the latter.

Since I saw the featurette on the Batman Begins where Nolan mentions the first thing he read was "The Dark Knight Returns," I've thought that story was going to heavily influence his arc.

I LOVE where its going. I mean we basically got the Sons of the Batman with the Citizens for Batman; a much sicker, twisted Joker, and a Batman who's seriously low in the Gotham popularity polls (all this is assuming the spoilers we've heard are true). I am confident Nolan is not cramming all his ideas into TDK. The third film will be as epic as this one, SOMEHOW.

Trust in Nolan.

nolan will be doing a 3rd movie I can bet my balls on it

i hope you're right

please... nolan please...

in a oldman interview he said that nolan would say 'i dont know' alot, but really like come on he just finnished it and he need a holiday.. and do a smaller film like he did with prestiege... then the third... i hope he does coz no one can convey his feel and direction..... hmmmm

i will be deeply sadened if nolan doesnt return!

saw the two face screencaps in youtube. i must admit i feel dirty and guilty now. i was hoping to get in the theater spoiler free as possible..oh well.

Concerning the ending of the film

I don't care if reviewers say there's a body and a funeral for Harvey. He CAN still return, if Nolan wants him to. I see this ending as Nolan making a *complete* film in TDK, as was his stated intention the whole time. However practically I don't see WB or Nolan sighing an actor to a role like Two-Face and just pissing him away in one film, Eckhart must've been signed for a second film I think. Even for contingency purposes. And now, unfortunate as it is, a very real contingency scenario has presented it self. For Nolan and WB there must be huge questions for whether to continue with the Joker now, making the retun of Two-Face (with Catwoman) that much more likely .

Nolan should definetly make more Batman films, Nolan can't just abandon the Batman films and leave the story incomplete. Nolan will get really rich with the box office success of TDK, why the hell will he not make more Batman films.

didnt eckart sign a 2 movie deal? im pretty sure he did
That doesn't mean that he'll be a major character in a 3rd film. he could simply be used in a couple scenes for flashbacks or something to that effect. So don't let a 2 movie deal fool you.

Nolan is a director that favours making a good, solid film over earning ****loads of cash, I think. If he feels he can't make a great follow-up (not necessarily a sequel) then he doesn't need to make another film

Nolan can take a hiatus and take his time to make another really great Batman film, it took a three years hiatus to make the Matrix sequel but I guess it's too early to predict whether Nolan make another Batman film or not.

I agree with this

Well Maggie also was said to be signed on for another film but we all know

She dies in the Movie

I think people just say they are signed for another film just to not give away spoilers or anything like that.

Not having seen TDK but knowing the outcome I'd say this...

For Nolan NOT to come back would be a real disservice to the films he's created thus far. The characters should at the end of the day have some sort of balance or resolution. If Chris Nolan were to walk away after TDK, we'd have Batman's trust with Gordon shattered, and Batman on the run. There MUST be some resolution, otherwise it will undermine the brilliance of TDK. Also I don't understand the need to kill Two-Face in this film. If it was a case of Nolan cramming all of his best ideas into TDK so he could walk, I'd be very irate. Nolan/Goyer have said on multiple occasions and the BB dvd that killing off the villians was one of the failings of the previous franchise. So why take a page from those? Nolan is a smart director. I'm not sure if I buy into the rumors of 2Face's return in another film without having seen this one myself, but what other explanation could it be?
