Not sure how I'm feeling about Cyke being some angry kid almost sounds like they're trying to make him "cool" by giving him an edge. I think he could still be a boy scout and be badass works for Captain America.

He has good reason to be angry, and there have been moments in the comics when he expresses his anger over his inability to control his optic blasts.

Cyclops being edgy has been working for him in the comics for the last decade. As long as his anger is justifiable (and not aimless teen angst) I'm fine with it.

Eh the Scott and Jean scenes were decent but honestly/sadly the best showing of Cyclops was the first X-Men movie to me. X2 had 3 good Cyclops scene taking down the guards before Lady Deathstike knocked him out and the Jean scene in the museum and when she was making her sacrifice but X-Men(not including deleted scenes between him and Wolverine dressing up, him and Professor X talking about Wolverine, etc) had the train station scene with kid and mother, Cyclops chuckle at Wolverine middle claw, Cyclops talk with comatose Professor, Cyclops being the one to take Magneto down, etc. Even though I hated the stereotype of Cyclops had in their mind because of the movies (which looking back can honestly be debated/argued started with the 90s cartoon interpretation of Cyclops), the first movie captured a lot of nuances with the character that arguably even the 19990 cartoon couldn't/didn't do which I hope is taken farther and see/explained in X-Men Apocalypse and future X-Men regardless of either James Marsden, Tye Sheridan or a new actor (hopefully the former 2) playing the leader of the X-Men in which we can see more nuances and development fromantic the comic.


As for the angry Cyclops, like I posted a few pages back with some comics panels Angry Cyclops before he became leader/tatician Cyclops and can work if done right, which I have faith it will because it's Tye Sheridan and Bryan Singer. Like The Guard said Angry Scott is not unprecedented , even in some Stan Lee comics he had tortured moments when he wasn't being teacher's pet/leader of the X-Men, even going as far as quiting because of his dangerous powers.

Many of the animated shows have portrayed him as a *****elord, but I'd say my favorite animated version was evolution scott. Which seems to be the major inspiration for this film.
