Ubisoft has promised that it plans to release no less than five AAA games before April 2021. In a recent financial call, the company said that three of these games will launch between October and December this year, with the following two coming between January and March 2021.

There's no guarantee, but it might be safe to assume that the first three games, out this year, are the ones that we already know about. Watch Dogs Legion, Gods & Monsters, and Rainbow Six Quarantine were all announced last year and were expected to launch early 2020. Late last year Ubisoft co-founder and chief executive officer Yves Guillemot announced that all three titles were to be pushed back to allow for extra development time.

The other two games planned are altogether more mysterious. The fact that Ubisoft hasn't actually announced them lend them that air of mystery... obviously. However, according to Kotaku's Jason Schreier, we can expect these games to be a new Assassin's Creed, and a new Far Cry.
The last time we saw the Far Cry franchise in action was Far Cry 5 spinoff New Dawn. Released in February last year, it was a game with some genuinely fun ideas and a colourful take on the apocalypse. Unfortunately, it didn't prove to be a very memorable experience. To be perfectly honest, I'd kind of forgotten about it until I started writing this.

As for Assassin's Creed? We last got our sneak on in 2018's excellent open-world Greek epic Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Clearly, ditching the annual release schedule has done the popular Ubisoft franchise a world of good. I'm particularly excited to see what the studio has come up this time.

The most prevalent rumour is that the new Assassin's Creed will be viking themed. We've had absolutely no official word on this, but a number of industry insiders and alleged leakers seem to agree that this is the direction the franchise is headed.

It's worth noting that well-known industry analyst and insider Daniel Ahmad, AKA ZhugeEx, recently warned that a great many of the AC rumours currently circulating aren't to be trusted. Posting to ResetEra, he claimed that some of the details so far have been accurate, but that there's an awful lot more misinformation mixed in with the truth. It's worth bearing in mind that there has also been some talk of the series returning to Rome, last seen during the era of the franchise's second game and its spinoffs.

It could also be that the new Assassin's Creed is one of the ones released this year, as every other mainline entry in the series has released in the fourth quarter of its given year, right the way back to 2007's debut game.

As always, we'll wait and see what Activision has to say. If Assassin's Creed and Far Cry are returning early next year, I'd assume E3 2020 would be a good time to announce those bad boys. Stay tuned.

Of course still no new Splinter Cell! :(

hearing "Key Franchise", one of them will be surely Far Cry....

Give me Far Cry 6!!

I am excited!!

Speaking of Far Cry
I wonder now what landscape Ubisoft are going to create this time?

We already explored a Himalaya Mountain, a Tropical island, a farm land of Montana, a stone age, and a post apocalyptic land...for Far Cry 6, I wanted something fresh and different. Maybe a landscape in Alaska or a jungle in India or South America would be nice.

Never played the last two but a lot to live up when you think about the villains in 3 & 4. Vaas & Pagan Min were both great antagonists.

I'm only interested in Watch Dogs and Assassin's Creed but bring it on!

Skulls & Bones is a wait and see for me.

Far Cry 5 was probably not as good as 3 and 4 what with the forced missions that interrupt your gameplay, but it wasn't all that bad either. I will say it probably has the best music in the series by far. If you can get it discounted, go for it.

I expect AC Ragnarok in October 2020, and Far Cry 6 in March 2021. That's the release schedule of the last 2 ACs and the last 3 Far Cry games.

Oh right. Cool with me.

Yeah, Far Cry 4 was my first ever Far Cry game I play, it was quite long and tired to play all the main and side missions (the arena mission really frustrated me at first) but it really becomes a really memorable and fun experience. I already replayed it 3 times (mostly to pick a different mission choice for Amita and Sabal).

FC3 and FC Primal was also fun...though in FC3, Its quite shame we have to kill Vaas mid of the game (I prefer him as the last boss).

FC5 and FC new dawn..story and character wise is indeed not as enganging as the previous installment but gameplay wise...I think those two were better than any FC games. (No more a tiring routine of hunting animal skins for crafting weapon or no more climbing tower to open a new area...we can just explore as free as we can).

And, Joseph Seed was my no.2 favorite Far Cry villain after Pagan Min.

I would be surprised if Ubisoft can releas 3 new games this year. They are completely silent this year after they delayed their 2020 games.

The rumor is that the first game Ubisoft is going to release this year is Far Cry 6.

It is told that it will be release soon this year.
I am very excited to hear it since as soon as I finish FF7 Remake, Last of Us 2 got delayed again and Avengers still has not a release date in Japan, I will be out of new game to play.

Though it still a rumor, I am not really fan of the idea of Vaas coming back.
Far Cry 3 story already finished, let it be a new story, a new setting, and a new character in FC 6.

I was/am kinda intrigued by Ubisoft's shooter games especially the recent two games for both Ghost Recon and the Division. I love open world games and the graphics for those two look great. But if I didn't really enjoy Metal Solid Gear V and Just Cause 3, I don't think I would enjoy playing them and the other Tom Clancy Games.

Far Cry, to me first person is like a deal breaker unless its already a franchise I already played before. So that's the last current franchise from Ubisoft I would play. Prince of Persia is likely dead. Assassin's Creed already replaced it a long time ago.

I hope both Assassin's Creed and Watch Dogs are released this year. I alreadyhave loyalty to these two ips and I enjoyed the previous games.

Skull & Bones and Beyond Good and Evil have been announced like two years ago and i feel like Ubisoft being quiet for this long is not a good sign. But I'd pick them up if they get decent reviews. The graphics look top notch.

I agree...Ubisoft graphic is top level.

Look at Far Cry 4 graphic...it has the most beautiful landscape and scenery I ever see in a video game.

Assasins Creed Origins...it feels like I am in a holiday mood when I explore the dessert, the mountain, and lakes of Ancient Egypt.

Same with Odyssey, which I believe has the best looking and most beautiful open world games from Ubisoft. Its gameplay is the most addictive.

I have been a fan of Ubisoft games since PS3 era (My top 3 are Far Cry, Assasins Creed, Ghost Recon). It is fun experience playing Ubisoft franchises, though it is time consuming, hehe.
