Age of Ultron Ultron! We Would Have Words With Thee! Official Thor/Chris Hemworth Thread - Part 1

We haven't really scene Ultron punching or doing hand to hand much, so I can't say.

I love when fans just decide these things. Forget what happens in the actual comics. :woot:

I've been meaning to put you on my ignore list for awhile now.

It's hard to do on my stupid ass phone lol.

This **** is getting too heated. So would you rather after this film will Thor go straight to Asgard by himself and his own decision or will he fake die and be summoned to Asgard?

I believe, and hope, that he'll just choose to go back to Asgard.

Agreed, after this I don't think Thor will be messing with mortals for a while.

He got real ish to deal with now haha first the end of humanity now the possible end of his universe

never heard of that brand I have butt dialed on my Dumb fone lol

I wonder how long Thor has been on Earth after The Dark World. He has human clothes and everything and seems all comfortable as appose to his "Do not touch me, you mortals are so petty." attitude in the first Avengers.

idk, but that character description that included thor's mission for the movie described him as "as powerful and brash as ever". Brash. Perhaps this movie is where we get more of our comic "arrgh I'm Thor" on screen haha

Actually it says "more" brash and powerful than ever.

I would rather Thor goes to Asgard by himself and hopefully that's where Thor 3 takes place.

Please no more Darcy and the gang, TDW made me hate them.

In Latino Review's description last year, they mentioned that Jane and Chris O'Dowd's character were in the party scene (with Thor sadly watching on). That may have been in the script depending on both actors availability, but I for one hope its there. It'll wrap up - at least for now so we don't need to see them for awhile - Jane and Darcy in the most subtle but clear way.

^ I've never understood the plausibility of that "scoop." Why would Thor's ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend be at Avengers tower? It's not like she had a relationship with the other Avengers. It just seems weird to me. Did he just call her up to hang out? Maybe he just wants to be friends, but keep her nearby in case he changes his mind (let's call that the "Sif-Zone").

Of course, I won't know if it's true or not until the movie comes out, but it doesn't make sense.

I'd say at least 6+/ish months (both Thor:TDW and CA:TWS roughly happened 'real time'/when the films were released - so did GOTG for that matter) - the main question is whether AOU also happens 'real time'/approx. when the film is released (so about a year after CA:TWS/1.5 years after Thor:TDW) or not. I'd tentatively assume it is, but I don't think anything official has been said (yet?).

If that makes sense

I stopped at Latino Review

And remember Hemsworth said in a interview that they are having a bit of fun at Thor's expense during the tower party scene about whether Jane buys his clothes for him...
So yes that rumor was debunked....

I think you are right, it will probably be around a year.

That'd be a decent amount of time for Thor to get comfortable.

He got real ish to deal with now haha first the end of humanity now the possible end of his universe

The thing that made me wonder though is the stakes were the same in TFW. The villain was trying to end Thor's universe.

Same thing as Ragnarok, just different characters. I hope there's more.

well that's true
but it also means the story of Ragnarok relates well to kind of the theme of the Thor trilogy

Asgard constantly faces this never-ending cycle of war, destruction, and rebuilding
Ragnarok is about ending the cycle, and of not being beholden to it

So if Thor can conquer Surtur, and therefore conquer this cycle, then perhaps he can achieve real peace, and progress, for Asgard
it may mean, however, that fighting and killing will not be the right solution to end it, and Thor will have to find a different path

I know, but I guess what I meant was TDW seemed to have really high stakes for an okay movie, so we've seen that. I'm saying I hope the story is good enough, and a somewhat decent representation of the actual story itself. I'm anxious to know who's gonna direct.

Hell..imagine a secretive 4th act where after being built slowly, Thor just has a showdown with the midgard serpent?? I think that would be so cool.

Makes sense. I doubt they broke up. The very last scene of TDW was a passionate kiss between the two. An offscreen, purposeless break up would be really bad storytelling, especially after everything that happened in the last two Thor movies.
