Age of Ultron Ultron! We Would Have Words With Thee! Official Thor/Chris Hemworth Thread - Part 1

Thor looks beastly in the promos, though I am a little concerned if his vision quest has really been cut down.

Same here; to be honest, I think he was the one member from the "Big Three" that really needed a good arc in this film due to how his last solo film was somewhat mishandled when compared to Cap's and Iron Man's.

i cant tell if its thor or not but in the tv spot 7 it looks like thor is really flexing his muscles. he looks like hes levelling a city with heavy lightning blow to the floor similar to the irst film jovenhiem/ice giant scene.

The only difference is in Jotenheim, the lightning with being channeled into the hammer when he hit it.

In the tv spot, there's a clear explosion prior to lightning being called down. There's also a little explosion of energy it looks like, then the lightning comes down.

I hope it's Thor, if it is, they can do whatever with him for the rest of the film

Hope we see Thor use lightning straight from the sky this time, or at least in Raganrok instead of the need for channeling it

Just put this Theme on my New Galaxy S6 Edge that arrived thursday...

With rumors of Thor's side/solo quest being significantly cut, I'm starting to fear that he'll be presented as nothing more than an armed muscle for the Avengers in this film, which kind of sucks in my honest opinion.

I have not heard any more about his fight with vision...Is that going to be another stalemate ....Lets hope not....

Lol where are these unfounded rumors I never heard of.

i think it was stated within the recent EW article that...

the stuff featuring Thor going to a mysterious cave (with that woman taking off her robe inside of it) and emerging out of the water as thunder appeared was cut out from the theatrical version of the film.

I don't think you can reach that conclusion from this piece of information.

They only mention the woman missing nothing more. We don't even know if it's the same scene. Besides Thor has his armor when he's in that other realm. The part where He is shirtless could be his vision.

So the woman who everyone was wondering who it was isn't even in the film?

I really hope that that's all that was cut, and that the rest of his solo journey is still in there. It seems like it was pretty significant to his role in the overall film, unlike, say, Cap's adjusting to modern times that was cut from Avengers 1. Hopefully it's still there in some form, as I was looking forward to Thor having something to do that only he could do.

Welcome to the boards.

Wow, I didn't see that coming. That's one character that I didn't see/think that they would go in that route in pertains to Thor.

So he basically confirms
Vision picks up Thor's hammer. Throws it at him, and apparently Vision can just swat it away, according to the video, like "bammm, like, no affect" I hope Thor doesn't job to vision. Hulk is one thing, but a serious Thor should handle Vision like he handled. Unless it's established consistently that Vision is on that Thor, Hulk tier

Assuming that lighting in particular is his... it would be cool to see such a scene.

I am guessing someone or something is leveling the part of the "city" that is coming outta of the ground in other Tv Spots. It looks exactly the same to me.
So... maybe SW flips out for some reason and lifts that hole area up in the air just to be destroyed by some kind of explosion followed by a massive lightning.

I think in some other clips it looks to be getting evacuated that area which is gonna come in handy when the explosion destroys everything! We don't wanna think about the innocent lives that could die...

Well if you follow the same building up of Thor story/powers in the first avengers it's actually plausable he is the one to end also in a high note... something like he did when he was atop of that tower channeling lightning into that invading alien forces "hole" in the sky...

Like i pointed out before in other topics i think he's kinda put on the spot against Vision like that what happen with Hulk and then he has to have some massive feat that reafirms his power place/ranking in the team being this in particular.

Honestly, it's really Thor's involvement and arc in this film that I'm most interested in when it comes to the Big Three.

When I heard that Thor would have a side quest in this film that will have him traveling across realms and learning about the "bigger picture", while putting his centuries old knowledge to good use for the team, I was really excited to hear all that.

So I'm still hoping for the best for the character, even if
a certain scene has been cut that was advertised in trailers

And I definitely don't want to see Thor get beaten up at the expense of making someone else look strong. It's bad enough that some people still claim that Hulk was handing Thor's ass to him in the first film despite it being the contrary, where Thor was the one that was holding back.

I'm with you on that one.
I do think he was holding back and that's the reason why "he was losing". He didn't even use his full power in terms of what he could do. It was more of a "calm down" Banner than anything else.

Hulk was going all out as usual and came out on top while Thor just after a while realised what he was dealing with it... that being kind of a bit late.

Hulk has already his massive fight and Thor needs his as well and that's gonna be Vision. I don't really care if he gets beat up or not. It's part of the fight do get some once in a while.

Or else we can have him just drinking a pina colada the hole movie! :woot:

It seems like anyone in the MCU that happens to wear/don the color green seems to have Thor's number.lol

1. Thor gets (unintentionally) the lower end of the stick regarding exposure and compelling arcs when compared to the likes of Loki.

2. Thor (despite holding back) is thrown around by the Hulk, thus leading people to mistakenly assume that Thor can easily be beaten by the Hulk

3.
Vision ends up being the first non-asgardian to lift up thor's hammer
