Age of Ultron Ultron! We Would Have Words With Thee! Official Thor/Chris Hemworth Thread - Part 1

I think something happens that makes Thor drops Mjolnir. Something emotional, like when someone drops a glass when they hear bad news.

I certainly hope that trailer shot was just an unfinished thing though, as Mjolnir should never bounce.

How would that be an unfinished shot? A shot of Mjolnir falling to the ground is hardly CGI, they have incredibly heavy versions for that so it just thuds to the ground.

Wow. The Thor shots in those new tv spots make me really excited for his role in this movie. Can't wait to see him fight Ultron. Curious to know the context of his "I AM mighty" moment too.

Yeah me too since it LOOKS like that was Asgard

I'm not positive that it's Asgard but the more snippets we get of Thor on his mini quest the more I think it's going to be great.

I will not be surprised if Thor is away from the team for the majority of the movie

Well, based on everything that I've read and seen, it seems as though Thor is not present with the group during the action sequences that takes place in Seoul and Wakanda.

I'm guessing that the only action sequences/scenes Thor will take part in will be in:

1. The opening sequence involving the raid on the Hydra Base.

2. Ultron's first attack on the Avengers in Avengers' Tower.

3. Cap, Thor, and Iron Man confronting Ultron and the Twins at another base.

4. Thor's mini quest across the realms, looking for answers.

5. Thor vs Vision

6. Thor rejoining the rest of the group for the final battle

That's definitely a lot more for Thor to do when you compare it to his role in the first Avengers film.

Also, I wonder if that shot above indicates that Ultron will at some point knock most of the Avengers down, leaving Thor to fight him by himself for awhile.

^ This! It makes the most sense for Thor to go on his own side quest out of all the team because of his connection to the realms, plus like Feige said, he wanted his 3rd film Raganrok to change the cinematic universe going forward like the winter soldier did, so I think they are doing early setup and foreboding.

Plus it gives Thor more to do than the first Avengers film.

Thor looks like he is walking through an Asgardian nightclub full of women, saying 'I am Mighty' :sly:

The last TV spot sure gave us some cool Thor footage (and an awesome Hawkeye quote) and I think by now there's not any Avenger that I have any worries about. They all seem great from what little we've seen and the fact that Thor gets his own little quest in the movie is extra awesome.

Yeah I had to rewind the first time to actually see that he did that lol

Pretty active Thorsday last night here. Here's a pic I took from my apartment

Totally agree, Mjölnir! By all appearances, this will be a well-balanced ensemble, with everyone getting a fair chance to shine. I can't wait to see what Thor's side-quest is all about!

Thor's role in this movie is going to be big. Love it.
If this is the case, and Thor is the last one standing, well then I think that's the answer as to who is the most powerful avenger :sly:

:thor:Love the choke hold scene, you can see by Thor's expression he is going to strike back in a way Ultron might not like..
(Your Big....Fought Bigger!!!!)

Eh, idk about that. His expression doesn't seem like he's about to strike back, looks a bit helpless.

Agreed. I think Thor may give ultron some trouble in his first couple of forms but in his final form. Thor is just no match.

I definitely enjoyed the description that "Film Police Reviews" had given for Thor in this film. If it holds true, it seems like Thor's wisdom is really used well and that he hasn't forgotten about the fact that Loki was in league with someone (Thanos) for the events of the first film:

The Asgardian God of Thunder returns as Earth’s sworn protector. More brash and powerful than ever, Thor serves as the moral compass for the team and continues his personal quest to find the identity of his brother’s secret ally while also warning his teammates of threats that are bigger than any of them imagine.

When they say he's more powerful I hope it means he has a lot more skills up his sleeve that were about to see. It will also be great to watch Thor having some smart insights for once. I'm sick of him being tricked over and over again. With all his experience and history he surely has to have gained a bit of wisdom that the others haven't.

I disagree look right at the end his face goes from grimacing and teeth gritting to almost composed and determined
