Uncanny Avengers

I actually like ANXM more. It's getting to the point pretty quickly, and it's going in a specific direction. Uncanny Avengers is fine... it's just not there yet. It has a clear direction, but the team is all over the place.

I'm liking ANXM much better at the moment, though UA could catch up.

I actually thumbed thru All New X-Men today and while I'll admit the first 2 issues looked decent enough, it seemed like Bendis was slipping back into true Bendis form by #3. I'm still gonna avoid this.

His Emma certainly didn't sound like Emma...

So, is UA in a different timeframe than ANXM, I guess? Considering in one Cyke is still waltzing around and in the other he's behind bars...

I've not picked up my comics yet but if Bendis miswrote Emma it can only be an improvement. :p

She seemed like Emma to me. Im glad she got to call Scott out on nearly killing her and leaving her for dead. She may have been a bit on the b-chy side but I thought her anger was justified

Was Osborn always that evil?

Did the Goblin formula make him worst?

I think he was always a dark handed individual, the goblin formula just gave him the means to do all the bat***** crazy stuff and removed from the ethical dilemmas of it from his head

At one point she said "Yeah... I'm thinkin' maybe you and I shouldn't be anywhere near each other anymore."

I miss Morrison and Whedon.

Why? I am glad Emma is not talking as she has been for a decade..I always imagined a Madonna-esque faux British accent..perhaps now that Cyclops beat the **** out of her with Phoenix-y rage..she will go back to her Bostonian roots...

I liked her faux British accent. Emma is a complete phony and it's wonderful. Bendis writes her like Wolverine.

Hey Corp, whats your new avy?

It's cool, but I gotta be honest... it's makin me a little nauseous, lol

It seems like Uncanny Avengers may take place a little bit before AvX: Consequences for now. The timeline basically seems to be: Cap approaches Havok to lead the mutant-focused Avengers squad, the Red Skull re-emerges, Cyclops escapes from prison, and then we're up to the present-day of most of the NOW series. I suspect UA may fast-forward up to the present after this first arc.

Ah, ok; makes sense.

It's pretty interesting to be reading an X-Men title again. I haven't cared about X-men in comics for years beyond Uncanny X-Force.

All New X-Men has been really good so far. That might be a worth a shot if you're curious about other X-titles.

Yeah, I've mostly tried to ignore them, although I've always had a couple holdovers like X-Factor. It's interesting seeing the lines between Avengers and X-Men blur. Long time coming, too.

So does that mean her love for Cyclops was phony? :cwink:
I actually think you could interpret it that way, if you wanted to. She could have just wanted the power and status. I personally think Cyclops and teaching are some of the few things she was genuine about, though.

That's what 9 out of 10 embittered Jean Grey fans believe.

I never understood why liking one meant you had to hate the other.

Probably because of the cheating. I'm not really sure why more people didn't hate Cyclops because of that, though.
