Uncanny Avengers

I actually just started reading his solo. I'm on issue 5 right now. His relationship with Johnny was rather suggestive. Of course Daken just uses people, but you can't say the same about Johnny. He was legitimately extremely upset when he thought Daken was dead.

Yeah, there were some implications that they were in love with each other or something. I found it pretty interesting that they were willing to remotely go there with a major character like Johnny Storm.

With a libido like his he should at least be bi.

I mean this sends all kinds of signals

I'm trying to remember, didn't Daken have some ability to make people fall for him? If there were any subtle feelings between Johnny and him I just assumed that was Daken making it happen.

And I saw the first trade at half priced books yesterday. I'm thinking about picking it up.

He didn't have an ability, he was just a charming creeper
I just hate his damn floppy mohawk and his tribal tattoos

Tribal's lame, and why can't anybody draw a mohawk correctly?! (see also: storm)

Looks awesome. I can't wait for the day when Warren meets his offspring. I hope that's what Remender and Aaron are building towards. They've been working closely with each others stories for a while now. I'm also glad the S-Men are back already to keep the Skull plot moving.

It's a shame Opena can't come back to finish what he started in Uncanny X-Force.

Oh, is that where a lot of this Apocalypse stuff comes from? Because the first part of the most recent issue was sort of confusing, with a bunch of characters I'd never heard of before showing up as if I should know who they are.

It's a semi sequel to Rememder's work on
UXF

Bleh. Thank goodness for the Thor connection or I'd probably have just skipped this arc.

You should read through the Dark Angel Saga from Uncanny X-Force if nothing else (first 17 or 18 issues). Amazing story, and Remender's pulling from it for this arc. Plus, it doesn't require any previous reading.

Despite any distaste one might have for X-Books, if you're a fan of just good quality storytelling, art, and characterizations, it's worth a read. What follows after that, while still good, never quite lived up to what came before.

I thought Remender created some fantastic new characters with the new Horsemen of Apocalypse in that run, which is why I'm a little frustrated that he just killed them off willy nilly in Uncanny Avengers. It's seldom that we get High Quality characters that can really have legs nowadays. Hopefully he has more plans for them.

Sunfire has been awesome so far in his Uncanny Avengers run.

Also, it seems like the Avengers women love Havok. It seemed like he had a brief "moment" with Scarlet Witch a few issues back, and Wasp is ready to take him for a ride.

still have a feeling Sunfire will have a tragic ending under Remender.

He just can't resist Magneto's little girls... or Magneto's little girls can't resist him, however you want to look at it. :cwink:

I still need to see Sunfire, Northstar, Namor and Quicksilver in a lineup together at least once

After the fiasco with the "M" word, I don't know if Remender will want to kill off the one minority character on the team.

I don't think there'd be much of an uproar if he kills off an asian character. As racist and crappy as it sounds, that's usually reserved for when a black character dies. Personally I don't care what race the person is; quit killing people period. Write more creative stories.

Well it wouldn't hurt to have more than one lol.

I agree, JH. You can only read Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Wolverine, and Cyclops in a million titles for so long. I like it when "flagship" books bring in lesser exposed characters. Maybe that's why I really enjoyed Avengers 11.
