Uncharted 4: A Thief's End

It was very obvious that they were married in UC3. They had an entire subplot concerning their reconciliation.
Were they really? I was under the impression that they were just engaged.

God damn the graphics for this game look incredible. The cut scenes looks great. Smooth transitions into gameplay.

The story of Drake and Elena's relationship was this:

The game starts with Drake working with Cutter, Chloe and Sully. There is no mention of Elena, and when they realize they need her help, Drake is very against it, implying that yet again, the relationship didn't work out.

Later on, we see them together after the ship incident, and Nate mentions her ring, implying that they were engaged. We also see why they are apart at the moment, with how Elena can't handle Nate's obsessive nature with these treasures.

It isn't until the very end in the scene with Sully that we see Nate has a ring and they were in fact married, after all, men don't wear engagement rings.

So the natural conclusion is they got married before Drake's Deception and then separated and after the game, they made up and settled down.

damn, looks like the nadine ross thing caused a bit more controversy than I thought.

Finally getting the hang of this multiplayer. That is, I'm not longer the worst on my teams in most matches, lol. Surprising how addictive it is considering there are only 2 levels/arenas available.

Just saw the Nadine trailer:[YT]TICyinQVFb4[/YT]Man, the movements and the acting are so fluid, so natural, so good. What an incredible job ND's doing.

Which is stupid considering that a black person is playing a white character in the game. Seems clear that they cast based on what the actor brought to the role, and not based on their damn skin pigmentation.

Druckmann handled it and explained it quite well imo.

Is it really a controversy though? Baneful mentioning it is the first I've heard of it, and the only thing I have found is reports that claim there's one while including Niel's PSX response. I haven't found any actual outrage. Seems like news sites are just saying there's an issue for click bait.

I think the real problem is that there just isn't a huge pool of voice actors for devs to work with, regardless of their ethnicity.

If druckmann thought it was important enough that he had to address it at psx, then yeah, I'd say it's a controversy.

He was directly asked about it though. He didn't bring it up on his own in an attempt to quell any real controversy; he answered a question. That isn't enough to qualify something as a controversy.

It is of my understanding that in situations like this, people don't address controversies until it is brought up to them first. And I'm pretty sure the articles that covered it even used the word "controversy"

And my point is that there is no controversy. The only "controversy" one can find on the subject is in those very same articles you mention calling it that without actual evidence. It's nothing but your typical media mentality of reporting a nonissue as a controversy to garner page views.

and I disagree. This fits the definition of controversy in my opinion, even if there have been far worse ones in gaming. Not only the articles but even druckmann used the words "inviting controversy"

Gaming "controversies" are dumb. And never anything worth while. It's usually a SJW making something out of nothing.

No, you are wrong. COULD there be a controversy? Sure. That's what the news sites are trying to get started. But as of NOW, there is no actual controversy, just reporters using the word to get page views.

Something having the potential to be controversial does not mean there is in fact a controversy.

and I'll flip this right back on you and say you are the one who's wrong, again. This is a subject that caused a negative stir on the internet which prompted the source to make a response. I don't care if you don't think it's a controversy, but you aren't convincing me otherwise.
