Uuhh uuuhh uuhhh! (zombie talk for...THE OFFICIAL 'DEAD RISING' THREAD!!)

Can anyone tell me how to make the text be BIGGER on a standard TV?

Cause I really don't have the 500 dollars or so to go by the cheapest HDTV.

DR and Gears, the first two games I'll be getting when I FINALLY get my 360....well, hopefully.

DR is really fun, but I just read about the small text problem through the net. Sadly right now I can't run off and buy a HDTV. So I guess the only thing I can do in DR is free play and just run around and kill zombies.

If you go to the 360's display settings and widen the screen, it gets a little bigger.

Grrrr. I finally get somewhere in the story and the 360 says the disc needs to cleaned. :cmad:

So I just bought this game ... pretty pleased about it too! Its a game to let all your frustrations out! The save system is pretty **** though , you have to get to a bathroom or security room everytime :(

Anyway , I got a few questions.

How in the WORLD do I defeat those 3 bastards inside the Hummer?

How do I select different Objectives? ( You know , divert from the main ones )

How do I preserve the Katana Sword? Or any other stabbing weapon? ( In short , how do I repair items ... if thats possible? )

Thanks in advance guys :)

3 bastards: Dunno, I still haven't figured it out.

Objectives: You just go elsewhere, there is no choosing what you do/ when you do it.

Repairing weapons: Quite impossible, once the weapon is gone, it's gone.

me, I snipered those f***ers from far, far away. I stood on top of this little house or shed or whatever. it was on the opposite side from the pond. I took a full sniper, stood on top of the shed, where the zombies couldn't get to me, and calmly waited for them to hit a tree. then I took out the driver, then the gunner, and I tried to take the other guy but my bullets ran out. but it was pretty easy then, I just ran over to him and blasted the s#!t out of him.

as for objectives, you can choose from the watch menu, when you're looking at the time. it'll show you the different objectives. you choose one, click on it, and the guide arrow will point to it.

and you can't repair items. best thing you can do to preserve them is to collect books from libraries. each book will give a specific weapon a longer life span. best thing you could possibly do is kill the clown (he'll be at some point in that plaza with the rollercoaster thing, forgot the name), get his mini chainsaws, and collect three books (I'm not sure, but I think it's entertainment, horror and crime) which will make those chainsaws last almost through the entire game. it's BY FAR the best weapon in the game. you can just run up to the boss and kill him with less than ten strikes.

LOL! The way Frank looks in the YouTube video is EXACTLY how my character looks right now.

Soooo freaky its fun :P Thanks for the help guys!

Werd. I have a thing for dressing up characters to look like Vincent. From Michael Mann's Collateral. The one movie Tom Cruise's personal life hasn't ruined for me.

I defeated Adam the Clown at LVL7 already lol. Just
kicked the toy blocks onto him all the time and defeated him without too much effort
Now I'm having a hard time getting back to the main part and watch the monitor. The mission "Image in the Monitor" is sooooo annoying :cmad: You gotta wait till 6.

I like the game so far , too bad I dont have THAT much time to play.

Go over to the gunshop and kill the crazy guy with the shotgun.

62 hours still remain and I've got plenty to do ... still busy on the 2nd case and I gotta wait so plenty of time to screw around ;)

Has anyone experienced that walking in that Mall ( playing the game on your room alone ) really makes you feel isolated and alone? Has to be my surround system playing tricks on me ;)

I just got this game the other day and I'm not owning a HD TV at the moment and I'm having trouble reading the text from what the characters you talk to are saying to me. Is anyone having this type of problem who isn't playing this on an HD TV? However, this hasn't stopped me from killing a Clown with an Elmo laugh with a sledge hammer and hijacking the convict's ride. :)

lol, That's been the biggest complaint with the game since it came out.
Even on a HDTV, it's hard to read the text. He really doesn't say anything important, just where the next survivors/bosses are.

To make Weapons last longer, you can go in book stores and they have certain books that cater to certain weapons such as hardwear book makes sledge hammers and chainsaws last a bit longer or sport books makes Bats and other sporting goods last longer...

I killed Lil' Jimmy (or whoever.. the blonde annoying kid with the camera) with a Sledge Hammer.. *****er kept following me.. So I killed him. But I got a reward after killing him. lol

What day did you kill him on? Because you would eventually kill him on the last day anyway

I don't know.. First? Second? Third? It was in the beginning.. I mean all I fought was the guy in the food court..

I like this game, but it's REALLY hard for me.. I like playing it with my friends, cuz we all help eachother, solve the puzzles and whatnot.. Plus my small (non-HD) tv in my room makes this game more difficult.

Kent is cool. You finish his first mission, then finish the second (show him your most awesome erotica shot, mine is worth something like 1000+PP), then finally he'll try and do something and you have to take the psychotic f**ker out.

Megaman Blaster is the best thing that ever happened to me, and was worth all the time it took to get. Which was probably something like 5 hours. Hahah, cut down every psycho battle to a couple seconds.
