Uuhh uuuhh uuhhh! (zombie talk for...THE OFFICIAL 'DEAD RISING' THREAD!!)

I need to look for the sword shop now. I've only JUST realized you can use teh skateboards and bicycles. :(

lol I lucked out with the bike. I was apparently just standing next to it then I saw the 'B' button alert thing.
It took me longer with the skateboard because I thought it was used as a weapon to hit zombies with.:oldrazz:

I also saw on youtube the Megaman blaster thing wher you have to kill 54,4097305738 whatever the number is of zombies to get it.
It's cool and all yeah, but it's too much of what I call a 'God-weapon' for me to bother trying to earn it.

Ok I feel really dumb.
After running through the mall over at least 20 times, I now just realized today that there is a sword shop next to the grocery store.
That could have saved my ass numerous times if I knew about it.:csad:

There's also a gun store in the construction area, I'm sure you know about that. And a store where you can get an Battle Axe in Entrance Plaza.

I only now realized there are water buckets in the hardware store outside. Haha i've been in there billions of times but never found them before.

GOD WEAPONS!!!!????

I'm going to get the Megaman suit PRONTO!!!

Yeah, if you get the genocide achievement, (AND BEAT THE GAME AFTER YOU DO, IF YOU QUIT AND START OVER YOU WON'T GET THE UNLOCKABLE) You get a real mega man blaster that has 200 shots and is one shot kill to almost anything including bosses.

If you survive for 7 days in Infinity mode, you get a lazer sword with 200 hits that is also one hit kill. I have never even attempted it cause it takes to long to do.

Yeah. I love me them 3 shotguns from the gun store. I hated having ot go back to take a vent picture for those damned 3 survivors. On the plus side though, those 3 survivors actually had really good A.I..

lol I get the wooden 2x4's and lead pipes. Sometimes the propane tanks.

That's what I call them. Things ridiculously powerful that last almost forever that make the gameplay go by too fast to enjoy.

I got a question. Do we need to kill the 50,000+ zombies in one game or is it added throughout the games you've played?

I just survived one day in infinity mode and that was a betch. I killed Otis, Paul, the sniper family in the park, that fat guy in Crislips and I passed the old lady in the warehouse, but where the hell is everyone else?

You have to get around 60,000 something in one play through. You will have to dedicate one play through of the 72 hour mode to driving in the tunnels and running them over. It takes a long time.

They randomly pop up as the days go on, the zombies also grow in numbers.

Oh great :\

Sounds like fun though.

Saving doesn't affect the outcome right? Like I know in some Capcom's RE games, saving affects the grade at the end.

Nah saving doesn't matter. JUST REMEMBER TO GET AN ENDING, ANY ENDING, AFTER YOU GET ALL THE KILLS. I have heard many tales of folk who saved and quit only to not get anything. Just hang out and kill zombies till time runs out.

I like to rescure the survivors only to let them be eaten by zombies. Then when they come back as zombies, throw things at them. :woot:

Mine is a story of woe and sadness...

I got it back when I had my first (and only) 360, like in April or something.
The gameplace I use to go gave me points for each game I bought or traded, and eventually I got enough points to get a free game, and I chose Dead Rising.

I did play it a bit, but I didn't have an HDTV and the text was hell to read.
A month or so later, my 360 exploded in a hellish ball of flames (or I got the red ring of death).
I got it replaced with the guarantee, and I sold it as new (got 400 bucks), and now I won't get to play it until I get my Falcon 360, providing they won't explode as well.

Wait, do I have to do this in infinity mode or can i just ignore the missions in 72 hour mode?
And if I can on the 72 hour mode, what happens if I don't make it to the copter?

I kill the survivors who start mutinies. Especially the fatass who wants food.
Then sometimes for fun, I bring survivors with me everywhere so they can earn their safety.:o:oldrazz:

I started a new game one day and my friend was watching, because for some reason she likes watching gameplay more than playing herself; Anyway, the cutscene of the prisoners played and she said I had to save Sophie or she would smack me.
lol I did save Sophie, only because I'm trying to save all the survivors without a death of any one of them.

Awe, when do you get the Falcon 360? And what is the Falcon 360?

lol, I got frustrated trying to do a Saint playthrough so I dedicated the rest of the game to doing that. But most of the time they end up getting b**ch slapped to death instead of eaten.

You can ignore the missions in 72 hour mode. You will fail the main story missions at one point and it says 'THE TRUTH IS LOST FOREVER.' but it gives you the chance to continue anyway. That's how you go about getting the genocide achievement, saving all the survivors, or getting a non-annoying free roam mode.

But there are several endings, so if you don't make the copter it's a different ending. If you do everything right you get an ending that leads into Overtime mode, which is an extra 2 days of story where the military come into the mall.

Yeah that's happened before to me.:csad::oldrazz:

But do I still have to go back for the helicopter to get an ending?
I know about the military thing but then what do I do with the military when I failed the main game missions?

No, You can hide out in the bathroom and still get an ending. The overtime mode is a seperate game, seperate from 72 Hour Mode. So it'd be dumb to try and do anything in Overtime mode cause it's a day shorter than 72 Hour.

I never tried failing Overtime mode, so I dunno. But there's not much point. It's hard to mess around when you have to deal with zombies and crazy military men.

Suprisingly, hunting knives and cleavers take out the army swat in 4 swipes.

I made a video showing you a good route to take to get the Genocide achievement in the Maintenance tunnels, I just have to upload it. And you can camp out on the rooftop for the remaining time if you finish with 24 hours to spare for the outdoorsman achievement, and you'll unlock the indoorsman achievement doing my route.

I love going to Al Fresca Plaza and making a bunch of Zombait, then using it to lure as many zombies as possible around the water fountain. Standing in the middle with like a hundred of them trying to get in is awesome. Then you smash one of them bug jars and watch all their head's explode. Priceless.
