Venom Venom: Let There Be Carnage

Same, my hope is that Venom is unable to defeat Carnage in this movie, Carnage goes to New York and we get a Venom/Spidey "Maximum Carnage" team up next.

I'm betting money on it, guys. Maximum Carnage is gonna be Sony's "Avengers" like event movie. Spiderman will be in it. I just dont know WHICH Spidey it'll be.

I wonder if Morbius and Kraven will factor in as well.

I think Venom needs to defeat Carnage in this movie. otherwise the payoff of the movie will be fairly pointless if it just ends Venom losing.

Doesn't mean you couldn't actually do something bigger for a 3rd movie. but this film probably needs Venom to win.

In an odd way, i am weirdly anticipating all of Sony's movies the most out of all this marvel stuff because im so damn curious as to how they are tethering this to the MCU. I mean, its either connected or it isnt right? And we all know Feige dont want that.

I can see an ending where Venom defeats whatever Carnage is doing in this movie but survives and decides he needs a grander platform and we see something like Maximum Carnage play out with Venom and Eddie deciding they have to figure Cassidy and destroy him.

I do hope Carnage isn't 1 and done

I'm thinking Eddie will be holding Venom in check for most of the film, and Carnage is going to kill Eddie's ex. Eddie will blame himself for holding Venom back, and will finally let the beast off the chain.

It makes no sense that he gets a symbiote simply from biting Eddie.

Hmmm, given the setup of the movie trailer I think they're going to justify this as a "split" personality from Venom's symbiote. Venom is frustrated that they don't kill/eat more people so that evil part of him jumps into Cletus' bloodstream given the chance.

TBH the whole "I gave birth to a new symbiote in prison" angle never made that much sense either. At least they seem to be supporting the spawn with some sort of tension between Venom's will and Eddie's. Makes the whole thing more personal, there's an added responsibility to him, knowing that part of Venom got mad at him and left and started murdering random innocents.

Not going to lie the Eddie/Venom back and forth had me cracking up during this trailer, especially the ''That's the red one" bit and Venom sounding like the Kool-Aid man with that "Oh yeah".

I still don't think this is going to be a good movie, but damn does it look more entertaining than the first one and Woody Harrelson as Cletus Kasady definitely feels like more sinister and more of a threat than Riz Ahmed was who was such a forgettable, bland and weak villian.

Can't wait to see what they do with him in this and hopefully Carnage is not a one and done, because it would be a huge shame to waste such an awesome design and a cool character after just one movie.

Him and Kraven should definitely be incorporated as part of a larger universe whether that's the MCU or whatever Tom Holland/Spider-Man verse Sony is planning to do.

I have to admit, i've sort of thrown my hands up and accepted the goofy direction theyre going with Venom. The "oh s*** its a red one!" bit got me to chuckle. I did not like that first trailer one bit but I'm warming up to this campy version that Sony seems to have committed to with Venom.

I figure the sky is the limit with the multiverse.

I think it could be that Tom Holland gets a time to shine with Hardy's Venom at some point. I would like to see it.

Could have had Cletus being used as a test subject for illegal experimentation against his will while in prison. Or had him donate his body to science. He's executed, and then someone uses his body as a petri dish to study the symbiote. It resurrects him and he comes back even more insane and immoral like some pet semetary ****.

I dont mind the angle they are going with, but there needs to be more to it than a simple bite and transfer of blood infecting Cletus. If it's that easy for Eddie to infect others then Eddie would have infected other people by accident.

Guess I’m the only one who hates how venom talks compared to the first one where he sounds good. Something about his voice here is annoying

They wouldn’t know how to handle that like they wouldn’t know how to handle that sinister six movie they tried pushing . They may get marvels help

They had my $$ at Woody playing Carnage this trailer gave me more of him so I'm hyped

Now where is the NWH trailer? Lol

Think it's because the voice actor who did most of his lines in the first movie passed away and Tom Hardy took over completely.

There will be no NWH trailer, because NWH was never real. It was all just a big prank from Sony and Kevin Feige to dupe fans harder than Ralph Bohner. :o

I still can't get over Venom quoting the Kool Aid man.

spoilered speculation

I am guessing that Venom's aggression that Eddie is dealing with at the start of the movie is a side effect of Venom being pregnant. I feel the scene of Venom making breakfast for Eddie is post birth, as it were. And given they seem to be playing up the Eddie/Venom relationship, expect it to be framed in the most monster ****er way possible. They know their audience.

I'd be very surprised if something comes of it though. Maybe a sequel tease if we're lucky, but I think we'd have heard by now if any big developments like that were in the pipeline.

So will we see toxin in venom 3? didn’t they cast someone to play toxin?

I think that's very much intentional, especially if they truly are building up to Maximum Carnage.

I think its less Maximum Carnage, and more Planet of the Symbiotes.
