Spread the Buzz
It's time to take action!
Here's what you can do:
1. Send a letter. As E! Online's Kristin suggested in her latest article, we need to write to Dawn Ostroff. Tell her how much you like Veronica Mars and how much you want it to come back as a midseason replacement.
2. Donte to the Hollywood Reporter ad fund As mention on the home page, we're gathering funds to tell the CW in no uncertain terms that if they do not bring Veronica Mars back as a midseason replacement, that we will boycott their network. We need to collect the money, design and place our order for this ad all within the next two weeks! To accomplish this, we need your help, so please donate whatever you can, even if it's only $5.
3. Call The CW's Viewer Comment Line. You can call The CW's Viewer Comment Line at (818) 977-6878 and leave a comment about how much you love Veronica Mars, how disappointed you are that it is not on the Fall schedule and that you'd like to see the show on as a midseason replacement if they hope to keep you as a viewer.
3. Add a comment. Go to Kristin's article and scroll down until you reach the comment area. Click the + on the second blue line to the right of where the line says "Add Your Comments". Register for the site (if you haven't already — it's free), and add a comment. Kristin will forward these comments to The CW.
4. Send an email. Email the CW at
[email protected]. Yes, it is important to send both emails and and snail-mail letters. Every little bit helps!
5. Get involved. Take part in some of the other campaigns mentioned on this site:
* Donate money to the "Veronica Mars Hollywood Reporter Ad" campaign (details above and on home page)
*
* Write letters or postcards to Dawn Ostroff at The CW.
*
* Email The CW and ask them to keep the show on the air.
*
* Check out the Offical Save Veronica Mars Thread at E! Online.
*
* Check out Television Without Pity's Eternal Vigilance thread (see link below) to see what they're doing.
*
* Sign the petition (if you haven't already.)
*
For any new viewers that you manage to recruit, if they want to know more about the show, or what happened in a particular epsiode, tell them that Mars Investigations.net is a great site to visit.
This site was designed to be a primer for new viewers to help them understand the show's complex mythology. Here, they will find detailed character descriptions, clues relevant to each of the show's season-long mysteries and detailed (as well as not-so-detailed) episode recaps. Even Rob Thomas, the creator and executive producer of Veronica Mars, has this site for new viewers linked to his site, so if it gets his stamp of approval, you know it must be good!
Other Campaigns
Several other sites now have their own campaigns to save this show wonderful show:
* Television Without Pity (aka TWoP) - Their "Embrace Vigilance" thread discusses a variety of new ideas for keeping the show alive, including their current flier campaign on college campuses to raise awareness and increase viewership.
*
* Cloud Watchers - Did you hear about the plane that flew over The CW building with a banner that read "Renew Veronica Mars"? This incredible community was responsible for that! Now they're taking on a new project to blanket the Top 20 Nielsen Markets with Veronica Mars flyers in time for the show's return to air on May 1st, but they need your help.
*
* Mission: Veronica Mars - These folks are trying to rent out a movie theater in San Francisco to promote the show by playing various episodes. However, they need help with spreading the word through fliers. Click the above link and be sure to check their blog to see how you can help.
*
* Project: Save Veronica Mars & One Tree Hill - A site dedicated to raising money for advertisements to raise awareness about the show in order to save it.
