I just finished up Person of Interest Season 4, and I really hope somebody had Viola Davis study Camryn Manhiem's Control. She's pretty much a pitch perfect Waller in everything but race, Davis would be wise to channel a little bit of her.

You can always learn though no matter how good you are, it's how you continue to grow and excel at your craft. Sometimes if a character is something you haven't done before there is no harm in getting a baseline by watching a great example of that character type.

I don't think Davis needs to watch that actress in order to give a good performance. I think she needs a decent director and decent material.

Yeah. And besides, Waller is actually very similar to Annalise Keating, at least in terms of personality (ruthless, cutthroat, willing to do VERY questionable things to get what she wants). Now, I'm sure Davis won't just phone it in and play "Annalise with a gun" but the point is, she's played similar characters before and I'm sure she'll create this character based on her own ideas, along with Ayer's.

Exacly. Davis is an excellent casting, and I hav no doubt that she'll give a terrific preformance. But even the greate of actors still study other great roles, and it can't hurt to watch other people who play similar parts exellently.

Either way, we can all agree she'l be great.
