I too hope Davis appears in other DCCU films as Waller. Especially in JL.
She could be the Nick Fury of the DCCU. Only she's a baddie.

Well... No. Waller is not a villain in the least and I would hate to see that be changed. If that's the impression one gets from say, ASSAULT ON ARKHAM, then it is a mistaken one. I also would hate her being "Fury" lite, or forming the JL or any of the things Fury is in the MCU. She can be in JL without having her character ape Sam Jackson's Nick Fury in any way.
I do want Viola Davis to appear in Wonder Woman as Waller if the scheduling works out even if it's just a small part say a conversation with Steve Trevor or General Swanwick. I imagine due to her HTGAWM schedule, it would need to shot in between hiatuses from the show.
A face-off with Batfleck will be tense and hilarious.![]()

Well.....yes, she is a villain, just not an extreme one. http://villains.wikia.com/wiki/Amanda_Waller
She can walk the good and bad line at times. If one doesn't get that impression from Assault on Arkham then it is a mistaken one. I'm not expecting her to form the JL. A villain type doesn't do that, they form the Suicide Squad, a clan of baddies.
Um... Yeah, that's all a big, "Huh?"
1. A fan wiki is the last place to get the last word on anything. Anyone familiar with the character since the 80's will tell you that at best she is an anti-hero type but, no, Waller is NOT A VILLAIN. Period.
2. Assault on Arkham, as much as I liked it, whiffs it on that particular element. It is a very far outlier in terms of her characterization across media, especially considering her comic book version and the version from JLU. Which is why I said that to take the AA version as a very accurate representation of the history of the character would be mistaken, which I think would be clear to anyone that clearly read the post you are responding to.
3. If she's a "villain" for forming the Suicide Squad (a group of villains used by legitimate authority often to fight OTHER villains for the greater good and safety of society) then I suppose Rick Flagg is a villain too, for leading them? Sorry... That's all classic fanboy jibber jabber. You are wrong. Plain and simple and anyone that has a knowledge of the character that DOES NOT come exclusively from the AA DTV knows this. Which by the way, again, was my point about her characterization in that mini movie.
Not my fault if you don't get it.
It's not a fan wiki it's a villains wik, with over 35'000 pages on it.
Waller is a villain. Period.
Nope, Waller in the comics made her own Suicide Squad of villains, too. Assault on Arkham got it dead right. You're wrong.
That's the same as saying how can Ra's Al Ghul be a baddie when all he wants to do is save the planet? Forming the Suicide Squad's just one example of her villainy.
You're wrong. Plan and simple. And my info ain't just coming from AOA. You'd know that if you read comics with Waller in them.
If we lived in an actual world with actual metahumans in it, somebody like Amanda Waller would be almost essential for humanity's survival. I hope the movie makes it clear that's she's not really in it for herself, but really is humanity's first and last line of defence.
Amanda Waller's a pretty interesting character. Her life before working for government was rough. First son killed. Daughter raped and murdered. Husband killed. She put her remaining her children through college and got herself through, determined to get better lives for all of them. She was a hardened woman before the Suicide Squad.
I hope Ayer references her backstory. Viola Davis is going to knock this one out.
