Visualizing A Superman Reboot: Pictures Welcome

Yeah Sage props on that pic that's what I'd like to see the entire Daily Planet cast in full

Oh and DavidTyler I was just elaborating figured to explain things in details since you were curious.

I like your lead actor/actress choices. Not to fond of the villains for the film, with Zod, Non, and Ursa...If we get a reboot I don't want them in it or anywhere near it. I like the Metallo pick for Pitt, though not my first choice.

I like your Superman, Lois, and Luthor a lot. Who would be your pick for Brainiac?

Zod, Ursa and Non are there cause in my reboot idea they'll be in the Krypton segment they won't be the villains. I posted the cast list without elaborating. The kryptonian characters are there to flesh out krypton and set up future appearances after the events that take place there like the zone villains escaping, Kara appearing on earth things like that. I can't think of anybody in mind for Brainiac at the moment cause if I go with any interpretation it'd be the one from the current Action Comics arc.

That would be tricky to cast as you need a strong man that could still pull off the smartest being in the universe convincingly. But I'd do the same thing that happened in that arc in terms of him having his forces invade krypton and abduct Kandor. So even though I wouldn't have him in the first film his presence is still felt. I'd save him for the first sequel and the zone villains for a third flick with Kara also appearing in the third. I think for a first movie they should go the Metallo route

General Dru-Zod is just so popular because of Superman II. The real number one Phantom Zone criminal was Jax-Ur. Although Zod makes a better storyline

Well Zod was reintroduced a little while ago in the comics along with Non and Ursa and they are very close to their movie counterparts as a result of the comic being written by Richard Donner.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Donner when he was doing the piece for Action Comics was basically writing his own version of Superman Returns but in comic form. Of course in my opinion it was awesome and at least the "Superman having a son" idea was developed better especially with the twist being that it was Zod's.

I like your ideas.

I wouldn't mind a first film with Metallo or Parasite. Maybe a second film with a villain from Apokolips as a minor villain with no origin or back story...maybe even no known purpose. Have the second film's main villain be Brainiac.

Then the third film would feature Darkseid and have Supergirl in the battle for Earth as well. I wouldn't even mind if they included or mentioned Apokolips and New Genesis in the first film- fuse it into Krypton and have it mentioned by its people (the war between New Genesis and Apokolips).

There are so many things that they can do when approaching this there are so many stories to tell--I want something completely new.

Recently I've gotten into Bermejo, and came across this. I'd really love to see scenes like this.. we need a Lex that actually feels intimidating and like a threat. Someone that can do for Lex what Heath did for the Joker.

Btw, does anyone know what this is from? I ordered Lex Luthor: MOS yesterday, it's not from that is it?

It's from an Action Comics issue two years back.

IIRC, that's from the run during Infinite Crisis. It essentially showed post-Crisis Superman's life through the eyes of Earth-2 Superman and how he'd have done things differently. This page just refers back to a classic post-Crisis story.

Oh damn. I love the art and the colors are just fantastic. I was hoping it was a full story.

Hello.

I don't think the mass audience wants a Superman movie too close to the comic books. I think they want something like Superman Returns but with more action and less children.

I also think they want Richard out of the picture, and maybe a bit more acting from Routh.

What do you think?
I'll agree for the most part. I don't particulary want a movie thats too close to the comics. Though,if a story is good I would'nt mind them borrowing from it.
I thought the kid idea was okay, but they never really had a chance to broaden that aspect...I also thought the Richard aspect was not needed really, but /shrug what it was is what it was...
I just visualize a superman thats not a complete idiot, who uses his head and his brawn. Villains, and stories that make sence and are idioticies or redundants.

I didn't like the vintage look they gave Metropolis in Returns. I want to see a Modern look.

Have you seen many downtown buildings in big city? Many use the art deco look (or vintage look, as you call it) & Metropolis use many of that look. Here's a perfect example of an art deco building in Asheville, which isn't too far from me. It's common among many downtown in big cities really.

And I know many want modern look for the buildings of Metropolis, but why not use both modern & art deco look? ;)

The suit, the cast (sans Spacey and Routh) the CGI Superman, the "script" to nowhere and the kid.

I don't know who they'd cast but I agree with the possibility WB goes after a big name this time around if Routh is out. I made the joke manip of Brad Pitt, but I'm sure if they could get him they'd probably do it. LOL

Decent, Man O Steel.

I like Rachel McAdams as a choice for Lois Lane. She's been on my list for the role a long time now.

Rachel I think could bring some maturity to the role that Bosworth didn't. McAdams could play a hard, passionate & to the point investigatory journalist yet somehow still be very likeable & kind like you see in most her movies & you'd understand why Superman would fall inlove with her. Bosworth was just a BIOTCH!. I think all the choices in my post have earned some respect amoungst ppl & fit thier roles well. It's not a to shabby supporting cast for Cavill to be wrapped up in IMO, it's be STM all over again.
