Wal-Mart & The Hypesters

I was at Wal Mart once and some jerk decided to use the electronics register to buy all of her items. She didn't have one electronics item.

I'm a cake decorater at Walmart. It has decent pay and hours. Plus they treat their emploies as people. Don't need a union when you your self can go talk to any manager and get things taken care of. I'm man enough to stand up for my self. Union wusses.
 I'm management at a Wal-Mart, and the Open Door is SOOO much better than a union. Why the f**k does ANYONE want to PAY someone to TRY (not always successfully) to solve their problems, when you can cut out the middle man, and try to solve your OWN problem for FREE?

Take a slip and fall in the backroom and watch how those managers help you then.:o :whatever: :o

Yes, because we managers are all soulless money grubbing bastards who care nothing about our employees well being. :down

Anyone remember that Wal Mart took out Life Insurance policies on their old greeters?

One of my friends in college unfortunately had a job at walmart while attending college. He left after 2 years because no matter how many times he showed his class schedule to his manager, or even had his a professor take the time to come to the store and sit down with said manager and tell them that he couldn't work the hours they wanted him to work because was in class, or how after christmas his hours were cut to one day a week (as were the hours for everyone that wasn't a department manager or assistant manager) so the store manager could get that nifty year-end bonus, the managers simply couldn't grasp the fact that he was a college student.

The next job that he took while in college was at FedEx. To his surprise, they had no problem getting his class schedule and work schedule to co-exist beside each other. And no one's hours were dramatically cut after christmas.

Sounds like you have all the misconceptions about unions I had before I joined up. Sure there are times work conditions could be better, but the health benefits are outstanding; eye, dental, all rock. I wish my co workers would utilize the dental. :csad:

I've worked both non-union and union electrical contractors, hell they both play games and try to get away with stuff but I found that there's a lot seedier **** happening with non-union.

We have monthly meetings and vote on various, most importantly money. Once I get my **** together I'll be going from $25+ an hour to $32+ and hour. It will continue to go up. :yay:

That's really a jerk manager. I've worked retail for two years in the same store and I've gone through 1 liar, 2 lazy asses, and now I have a decent one.

Wal-Mart is evil, its Mexican stores have been known to use Mexican children as all but slaves.

And unions are such a evil blight on this country.

Damn them for wanting the 8 hour work day with no loss of pay, actually wanting their workplace to be safe, not wanting their children under the age of 16 to work, wanting workers to have access to medical benefits.

I mean, those things have crippled the economy as a result :whatever:

Wal-Mart is wonderful. :) K-Mart is pretty dull. And at Target the clothes are pretty nice but the people there have horrible attitudes

You're kidding right? Wal-Mart is full of welfare bums who all weight 300 pounds.

What state do you live in? :confused:Majority of the people who work at the walmart I go to are community college students.

I get alot of my games from wal-mart, I got SM3 from gamespot though because I got a free poster.

Texas, one of the fattest states in the Union. But I've been to many a Wal-Mart in Florida, Washington and Illinois and they were all full of fatties.

Tennessee has it's share of fatties. But they don't limit themselves to walmart. They shop everywhere, and use those motorized carts.

Meanwhile, there's some 87 year old vet who has to walk around the store with his cane in one hand, and a basket in the other to get his daily supply of marshmallow cookies.

The motorized carts are fun...until security kicks you out. :(

I get great insurance from work too, without the need of a union to get it for me. I work hard and earn my raises and promotions rather then get them from a union, who would rather promote people based on tenure with the company than based on how high the quality of their work is.

Thats more a case of an asinine management team than corporate policy, at my store we work completely with our college students schedules, including MINE and I'm on the management team.

Unions started out as a great thing, but they are severely out dated in the 21st century. We now have governmental controls over all the things that unions used to guarantee. Back in the times when the majority of the work force was slaving away in factories, under grueling conditions, Unions were a necessity, today, where more and more people are working in climate controlled offices, for steady salaries and great company provided benefits, unions are much less necessary.

I'm missing a leg. I get one if I want it.

Though, out of respect, I usually just get one of the regular ones if I need it. My arms still work. But then I start acting like Joe from Family Guy.
