BTW, SR don't need to make Spider-Man's numbers to be a success. Just as long it's good & successful. Don't forget it hasn't open internationally yet & that DVD sales will help.

dpm07 said:Singer and that waste of a writing team Harris and Daughtery are to blame. They are the brain children along with Singer who had the idea to connect the film to the Donner films, as well as give Superman a son from which I don't know if any Superman film can recover.
Jon Peters while not someone I care for, was really only producer in name only.
This film's debacle is on Singer and his tools. It was Singer who didn't look at other resource material other than the Donner film. It was Singer who had the vision to only have Superman and Lex in the film and to introduce Kitty Kowalski rather than use Mercy Greaves. It was Singer who made a waste of the talent of Kal Penn and Peta Wilson. It was Singer who decided to make this a "chick flick" and who decided not to have a climax with Superman fighting a supervillain.
It was Singer and his fragile ego that had to be massaged by his yes men Harris & Daughtery. A writing team that doesn't even deserve to be in the field they are writing.
Singer dug a hole with this film due to to his blind fanatical fetish and worship of the Donner film, and it is being reflected by the lack of interest by the fans.

If they could get that right, the kid would add nice subtext...the good kind. The franchise needs more children, especially after this dark, depressing film made only for intellectuals.

-I loved the idea of Superman having a son
-I loved Lois being furious at him for leaving them
-I loved that Richard was a much a hero as Superman was
-I loved that it ended with Superman committing to his child, rather than flash a supervillian for the sequel and roll credits
danoyse said:It was only for smart people? No wonder so many people didn't like it.![]()

Besides, he seemed to be supportive of this interpretation of Superman.
He even had the balls to admit that he didn't understand the character in the "Look up in the sky" Documentary:
"I had it wrong for 12 years."
He earned some points for that.
