The Dark Knight Rises WB: No discussions about Batman 3 with Nolan yet

Does anyone else think that Nolan is sitting on a beach in the Bahamas reading these posts and laughing his ass off at us?

If he's in The Bahamas he's going to be there a long time - Hurrican Hanna and Hurrican Ike are hitting there, not a good move....:woot:

I know because I just got back from there and missed it by a day.

Nolan will be back, his story isn't finished nor is Batman's journey.

I think if he stopped and decided to NOT make a 3rd Batman film it would be kinda like Lucas stopping the StarWars trilogy after EmpireStrikesBack. It wouldnt be good. And besidesgoing with the StarWars Analogies Nolan has the chance to make a Trilogy as Epic and good as the Original SW trilogy 4-6...I doubt he'd pass up the opportunity to go down in History like Lucas has/did...

Can someone tell me what BOF is? I've seen people say... I saw your post over at BOF... I know it must be another message board but what?

I don't know if this is posted in here....

Come on Nolan sign that dotted line.

There is also news about other DC heroes on Film but please keep this discussion about Batman only.

Personally I'm glad Nolan isn't rushing it this to please the TPTB @ Warner Bros. Instead he's taking his time to plan out where to go from here with his trilogy of Batman . (Rather than make the same mistake as the previous franchise where the studio was more in charge than the director .) Nolan has brilliantly turned the tables on The studio, where he's in charge of the direction this story will go .

I'm not worried Nolan's knows exactly what he's doing ... Everyone just needs to sit back and relax . Nolan deserve his hard well earned vacation . Let the man rest with his wife & children .

Oh yes, Nolan deserves his vacation and he should go on it.

I can wait 3 more years - I just want to know that I have another Nolan Batman film to anticipate.

i think Nolan will deffinatly be back, 100%. if he wasn't then why would he end TDK like he did? there is no closure in TDK, i wouldn't call it a cliffhanger but there is no way in this world Nolan would finish it with batman thought of as a murderer. he'll be back

I heard that may or may not happen, because the studio is interested in bringing it back as a TV show instead or something.

Nolan just gave the studio 1 billion reasons to rethink that.

i'm open to the idea of a t.v show, as long as its gritty and in the mould of the wire. but i would only want to see that after Nolan has finished his trilogy.

Thought you meant a Prisoner tv show.

A Batman series would be great though I agree they need to get it as far from Smallville's influence as possible. Its already helped kill another Batman related tv show. We don't need a repeat performance.

So the Q&A on Friday night only consisted of Kenneth Turan of the LA Times asking Chris about the filming of Following. And as my screenwriter friend pointed out, they weren't very good questions either! :funny: Nearly no mention of TDK, aside from the observation of Chris going from a very small no-budget film, to large set-piece action films. (The entire audience roared when the Batman sticker showed up on Jeremy Theobald's door, though...:hehe: )

Some interesting tidbits included Chris acknowledging his long-time creative team, since it's so important to have that shorthand and the trust that you can only acquire by working with the same people for years. He also acknowledged his preference for shooting on location, since everyone treats it differently and more spontaneously than if they were shooting on a soundstage, and he enjoys that spontaneity. He also explained being able to tune out the craziness of filming a big-budget picture by thinking of himself as a representative for the audience. He's only focused on what's going on on the monitor.

And...that was really all the interesting bits. I just don't think he's decided quite yet.

^Thanks for the info. Too bad no one attempted to get him to tip his hand regarding his thoughts on another Batman film. I feel confident that he will return though.
