The tas superman was a weakling so let's not use him as an example of supe-powered superman doing amazing things... the guy could hardly lift a falling chunk of building, I mean not even as big as a locomotive, and he strained himself to his limit and ran out of breath it was stupid....

IMO POTC2 and DVC will do great numbers ww. But Superman will be one of the superhit of the summer.

I honestly think POTC2 will beat SR at the box office. I hope it doesn't and I think SR's going to be great, but I just have a bad feeling. The POTC2 trailer was pretty great, pushed all the right buttons and I think was slightly better, commercially speaking, than SR's trailer.
Don't get me wrong, from my point of view I think SR's trailer was fantastic... I'm just not sure the general public will see it as that, comparatively speaking.

Today I went out and grabbed a bite to eat with a friend of mine I hadn't seen in awhile. My friend isn't the biggest Superman fan in particular, but he loves superheroes and he is a frequent movie-goer, which by the way is the life line of the business unlike little prick fanboys. Knowing Im a Superman fan, about 5 minutes into our conversation Im hit with this, and it's a god's honest qoute, Im not making it up..........

" Have you seen the new Superman trailer, the new Superman looks like a ***. Why would they try to ruin the movie like that "

After that I tould him the concept for the movie, how it is a sequel to the 1978 film. Another exact qoute...........

" That is the stupidest f-ing thing Ive ever heard. Why would you make a sequel to a COMIC BOOK film that is almost 30 years old. So we are going to get the fairy Superman again "

This scares me, because again, my friend is a MOVIE fan, first and foremost, and he knows his stuff. He knows good movies and good ideas. I know some fanboy will come try and put me into my place but just thought I should pass this along.


And take this with a grain of salt, but after my sister saw the new Superman trailer before poseiden, she dead on asked me, and I qoute, why the guy from Smallville wasn't the new Superman, because he looks alot stronger than the new guy, and he is better looking to!!!!!!

Ok.. i will say that pirates 2 is a great movie..that i promise..and i honestly think it will be a massive movie..

I'm sure that the first great blockbuster of the summer is Da Vinci Code (but with no legs). The greatest flop is Poseidon, the greatest disappointment...probably MI:3.

SR, POTC2 and X3 will do very well.

If I was in this I'd say SR is going to be bigger than Pirates of the Caribbean 2 or the Davinci Code.But this is just my opinion.I know of so many people excited about this movie it isn't even funny.Even if it is bad stuff like Poseidon and Miami Vice will be way worse no one will care.

The concept doesn't " escape me ", I just don't agree with defending bad decisions!!!!!The mans made a huge error in judgement!!!!

It's bad simply because you don't like his idea? That's just not that good of a reason. There have been many times when people have dismissed ideas simply because of their personal feelings and gut reactions only to be proven wrong as the execution was better than they anticipated. I do not dismiss ideas. I will, however, criticize poorly executed ideas once I've seen them in action and in its entirety.

But after the first official trailer, those fears disappeared.
