My great grandparents on my moms side came from Palermo, the great grandparents from my fathers side were from Sicily too but im not entirly sure where.

I've been to Palermo a couple of times. It's about 1.5 hour - 2 hour drive from Catania. I got to see my team (AC Milan) play against Palermo once. Hope you get to visit the home of your ancestors in the near future.
