Everyone is talking about how great Ledger is as the Joker and how he should get an Oscar nomination. I agree! He was amazing and deserves a nomination. That being said...Eckhart was equally good. His performance was different, obviously, but just as effect.

Yeah he definitely did a great job in this one. Problem is, even if he got the nomination, it would be for supporting actor too I believe, and thus would go up against Ledger xD. A fine performance nonetheless.

PS - in before it gets moved to non spoilers :hehe:

Sorry... but not even in the same ballpark as Heath. Probably not even the same league.

he will have his chance after he reprises his role as two face in the 3rd movie...

TWO FACE IS NOT DEAD....IMO

I think Eckhart is being overlooked because he shared a movie with Ledger who's performance was so perfectly over-the-top.

True, Eckhart played the part well and the character was superbly written, but I doubt he'll even be considered (which is unfortunate).

Yup Eckharts Performance was really great as well. Could he. Maybe?

What's wrong with 2 Oscar nominations from the same movie? :) One will win for sure, but at least there's the nomination.

Eckhart was the best Harvey Dent/Two-Face, way better than Tommy's IM HAVING A BLAST AS TWO FACE WOO LETS JUST FLIP THE COIN UNTIL IT LANDS ON THE BAD SIDE WOOO! DRINKS ALL AROUND WOOO! Two-Face

No way. Get real. He was good but not THAT good. Heath stole the show. Hands down. Eckharts part in the movie just didn't warrant that kind of recognition.

I am still floored by Heaths performance. Absolutely INCREDIBLE! I was actually smiling and sometimes gritting my teeth while watching him. I have NEVER had a character in a movie make me do that or go through the emotions I did tonight while watching Heath immortalize his portrayal of the clown prince of crime.

Aaron good, Ledger FANTASTIC!

For those who disagree...re-watch the hospital room scenes and that last scene. Fantastic performance.

Exactly.

i agree, Aaron Eckhart, did an amazing job, sure Legder was amazing, and yes theyre roles were different, but i think Echkart should also deserve a nomination

Harvey Dent, in my opinion, was the lead. He was more of a central character and had more time on screen than Bale did. He was great, but I think Ledger was the better of the two.

I think that with repeated viewing people will come to love Eckhart. Joker was too much in your face for people to really realize Eckhart.

i hope Aaron Eckhart, gets recognition for his work, cause he did a wonderful job in my opinion.

Say Joker was a 11/10-oscar worthy in relevance I would say
Bale from bb who was an 8 went to an 8.5
Eckhart a 9.5

I would have reduced everything by one but cant justify bales low scores then
so joker is above the league

get my point

His chances of being nominated are slim to none
his chances of being worthy are decent tho

In a movie with probably one of the best performances from a Villain ive seen in ages unless u consider plainview w.e etc
It was hard to see how good harvey really was
and indeed the last scene with him flipping the coin was the biggest impact the movie left on me
everything around it was ok but that 5minutes was mesmerising.

Chances are he won't get an Oscar nomination, but there's other awards like...you know...MTV. :o

hes still
Alive
and I hope he gets a better chance in the future
it can still hapen
especially if they open the doors this year wide open with a movie nomination
then the door is most certainly open

It was a great performance that added quality to the film as a whole, but Heath's both added quality and showed off an oscar worthy performance on its own. Aaron Eckhart was very good, but not standalone good.

When the Joker first sat down in the hospital, with the wig and his facial expression...it was absolutely hilarious. :woot: It was really interesting to see Eckhart play this role because typically he plays the romantic type in love stories, but we got to see some great acting from him. Can't wait to watch it again.

I know a movie is good when I never want it to end.

I loved that scene! I think this is the first time these two villains share screentime in a live-action movie.

Why don't everyone who worked on TDK get an Oscar in their respective field? :woot:

YES! Thank You Catman, someone sees what i've been talking about for ages. Eckharts performance is so sublime and perfect, no one will appreciate without a couple more viewings it is definatly oscar worthy.

Well, if somehow Zac Efron wins the award for whatever movie that should've been for Heath or Aaron during the MTV Movie Awards....

"Everybody loses their minds!"
