What do you do for work ?

I sell propane and propane accessories....taste the meat, not the heat.
I actually sell auto parts. Worked 15 years in aerospace for a contractor at NASA. Left November of last year as that work has all but dried up. Much happier now, less stress

too much stress ain't healty. A jod shouldn't put you in stress imo. You did the right thing.

Security Officer, it's been cool. I've met a few Stars Seen movies weeks before they're out. I really can't complain. lol

Haha, if you don't have to support anyone else but yourself it's a little easier.

Work in construction as a joiner/carpenter, the money is ok but you burn yourself out everyday, I'm 28 but already my knees are pretty much f****d, my thumbs get stiff and click a lot, probably an early sign of arthritis, my back hurts on occasion, nearly cut my finger off once and broke another finger on a different occasion, all just to get paid, it might not seem worth it, but I have no other qualifications, so it's this or a minimum wage job with not many prospects.
I'm constantly drawing and I'm currently working on a kids book I'm going to be submitting to publishers once it's perfected, chances are slim it will get published but I have to try, if you ask me, working for anybody but yourself is a joke, I understand how the world works but it's crummy, surely life shouldn't be you putting in all the hard work while someone else reaps the benefits, is that what life really should be? Tax is an absolute joke, in the UK it's designed to keep the rich, rich and the poor, poor.
I realise nothing is gonna change in my life unless I do something about it myself, I can't keep going to a job I don't love, 5 days a week for the rest of my life, without trying to change my life to the one I want to live.

True. I left my previous job because it was too stressful (among other reasons), and the new one is way better in that regard. But indeed, I didn't have a kid yet, and I could afford to work for a new diploma. That said, I'm currently working on another one, while still having my job. Somethimes, you get a good opportunity, even if you have a family to support. There is no denying I was lucky though.

Agreed with pretty much anything u said. It's great also that you draw professionally and you pursue a better life.
I'm sure if you are a bit talented and stick with your dreams, the right doors will open for you.
I can relate a bit cause before I started do what I love, I was into other jobs that I didn't like at all and thought I will never work as a respectable graphic designer. But, even if I am working in my dream job right now, I still feel the weight of stress and depression of being a 9-5 slave in order to survive.

Yeah, definitely. I had been with the same company that whole time and with contracts closing and no new work coming in, it was time to go. The stress of not knowing what was going to happen was a little too much to deal with.

That sounds boring man. No offense.

Hah yeh fair enough it does sound boring but its actually not bad. I get to meet and handle some very nice artwork quite often seen for the first time since the artist painted it. I also paint and am very into the arts so I's actually something i benefit from. plus i only work 20 hours a week.

Ugh, had to throw people out today for smoking weed in their room. This is after yesterday, telling them with a warning to not smoke in the room as it was so strong it was bothering other guests. Not to mention smoking of any kind is not allowed on our property.

Security Supervisor on the midnight shift at our casino. It's boring on the weekdays but it gets interesting on the weekends since we have three bars and a hotel. I was out of work for a week back in January from a knee injury from a take down. Been doing it for 9 years so far, I try to do what I love during my free time. Mainly make costumes and independant films. Helps me keep my sanity.

I'm a manager at a grocery store. Make decent money, 2 weeks paid vacation and the hours are flexible.
