The Dark Knight Rises What do you not like about the movie?

That according to IMDB trivia section for this movie Chloë Grace Moretz, my favorite young actress, auditioned for a role, but Nolan cast Juno Temple instead. Curse you Nolan! Just kidding, not really a complaint.

The Bat. Think it looks rediculous and completely out of place in Nolans universe.

1. Possibility of Bruce/Batman being outed to the public as Batman
2. JGL remotely knowing the identity of Batman, let alone "becoming" Batman
3. Possibility of Alfred/Lucius/Gordon dying
4. No scene of Bruce at his parent's gravesite

Well, I don't love the title of it, even though it has grown a lot in context of what we have learned about the movie.

Nothing else about it we have seen or heard so far that I particularly dislike. Started out excited about it, now it has grown into my most anticipated movie of all time. I'm not afraid of any unconventional or "non Batman-y" ending so even the ending is way more of an intrigue than a worry.

Batman potentially being retired for 8 years. Though I'm fairly certain that's not the case. But if it is........!!!

Who said no scene at Bruce's parents gravesite?

Nothing about the LOS coming back bothers me because Nolan is so adamant about bringing things full circle and ending the trilogy.

What bothers me are small fanboyish stuff:

Catwoman not having a Cowl. I know old news but grrrrr. I actually hate that more than her never being called "Catwoman". I think after seeing footage that Anne is going to knock this outta the park, BUT part of me feels as though nolan made a very conscious effort to make her not look like the Batman Returns Catwoman (who had a cowl)

PS.

Im 95% sure blake will not become BATMAN at the end. The most he will become is possibly DEAD (a character we care about getting killed off to raise the stakes) or he will end up leading a vigilante group of citizens to keep gotham safe after batman dies/leaves/disappears at the end

those are the two extremes.

- The return of the TDK batsuit
- The return of the growl
- Catwoman's costume

All things considered, I'm glad those are the only things I can persistently ***** about when it comes to this movie.

Return of the Growl should have been the title of the movie!! :D

I :hrt: the Bat-growl.

Do we even know if the TDK growl is back? I haven't heard anything yet to prove or disprove that.

It would have been nice with a new suit, but I rather dig the TDK-one so I guess it can't really count as a complain of mine. And it definitely looks better this time around, making Bale look bigger and more imposing – and the fixed neck too!

I think Boom meant the growl in general, he had it in BB too, not just as effect-laden and strained as it was in parts of TDK (I think it's works great in more parts of TDK than it doesn't actually)

Ah ok. I had no problems with the BB Batvoice at all. TDK Batvoice is ok at some parts and bad at other parts.

TS voice >>>>>>

I'm not huge on the voice he used in TS actually, feels factitious without a reason. Love the Bat-growl in BB all the way. Love big parts of it in TDK (seriously how awesome isn't lines like "Then you're gonna love me" and "WHERE IS HE!!"?) while in other smaller parts I don't think it works.

I dig every line we have heard of Bats from TDKR so far.

1. Bane. I would've preferred a venomized Bane. In which case, CGI would've been the answer. If that's too much to ask for, then somebody who is a step down from venom/steroids would've worked, in which case somebody like the Rock or Chris Hemsworth could've been cast. Both guys are more than decent at acting. Nolan's interpretation of Bane is a big failure IMO. He took away the Venom and he took away Bane's built and jacked physique, instead he downgraded it to a guy who looks like he occasionally goes to the gym once or twice a week.

2. Catwoman and her very impractical looks. Nolan boasts about how he is a god of practicality, functionality, and realism when it comes to costumes. His Catwoman fails at that. Her heels are extremely unrealistic. Nobody and I mean nobody can sprint and engage professional killers with those hells that are over 6 inches in height.

3. Casting of Anne. She tries too hard IMO. She is ugly as well (IMO) but that's not my main issue. An ugly woman had been cast to play the role of a seductive, sexy, and beautiful burglar. None of those traits she has. I would've been ok with it if she had been cast as Rachel Dawes.

4. Tumbler looks awesome but the aerial auto equivalent of that is horrendous.

5. Batman's extremely short career. He was active for two years. Then he is inactive for approximately eight years. Then he is active again for perhaps a very short time to handle the Bane crisis. Then he will probably retire for good. I feel like Nolan extremely gimped Batman in his series. I loved TDK and I especially loved BB. Because of those two I fell in love with the series and saddened to find out TDKR is Nolan's last run, but this was all before I found out all the info about TDKR. Now that I found a good deal of information on TDKR, I am now ecstatic for him to hang the boots and for another director to handle Batman. I hope Burton returns, highly doubt it though.

And that's about it.

I think it only starts being bad when he has to do long speeches. One liners were fine.

Crane cameo sounds lame. The Bat looks a bit ridiculous for Nolan. Don't want the Los again. Catwoman needs a cowl. Batman better not pass his cowl to someone else.

Its story didn't extend into an expansive ARG like the previous one.

Expanding on my previous post, I managed to think of 3 complaints that would be major to me besides any lame retcons.

1) Not enough Bruce Wayne/Batman.

I don't want it to be Game of Thrones where the character is one of many cogs in a very large machine. Gordon, Harvey Dent, and The Joker really stole the show to me in TDK. I don't need Selina Kyle, like Jonathan Nolan said, threatening to tread this ground again. But he could just be hyperbolic for a character he pushed to be in the movie and is trying to sell people on.

2) Bruce Wayne is in prison (possibly) for a long time so that all these other characters can be shown having their own little adventures.

The strength of all these supporting characters to me comes from their interactions with the man, the legend, Batman and Bruce Wayne. Without that, they have less appeal to me.

3) Too much "cop crap"

Again touching upon one of my complaints about TDK. While I appreciate JGL's addition to the cast and look forward to some cool action scenes involving him, as well as the return of Gordon, there's also Foley in the mix. And, as has been seen, there are a lot of scenes revolving around the GCPD in general. It all adds up to perhaps too much.

I've more or less given up and Nolan getting the comic book specifics right, so I'm just letting his whole "I'll just create a new character and not use one from the comics" thing be what it is. I don't expect him to get Batman's suit to look less ridiculous, and that, Bruce and Catwoman having brown hair, etc, stuff like that, I just don't care about at this point. It is what it is.

The main issues I have with the film so far are pretty minor.

Catwoma-err, Selina's mask looks ridiculous. And having her hair pulled back and pinned back essentially robs Hathaway of much of her natural beauty. The result is her looking fairly plain, instead of stunning.

The Bat is a cool concept, but it looks really stupid from the front. The Tumbler looked weird. This thing just looks stupid and clunky.

And the big one for me thus far...much of the dialogue. There are some decent moments we've seen. But Bane talks like a serial villain, and it seems like all the less emotional moments consist of Goyeresque call and response dialogue, or sports references, or melodrama. That annoys me to no end. I was happy with a lot of what Jonah wrote in TDK, but some of the stuff he's put in actors mouths is just wayyy too over the top, and could just be better thought out, polished a bit.

I have some concerns that the acting won't be quite good enough from Bale and Hathaway, but will wait and see the movie.

We'll see soon enough.

The Joker not being mentioned...

No I'm kidding. I don't want anyone else to steal the show this time besides Bale/Bruce. And I don't want the TDK voice, I prefer the BB voice, but I guess I'm not getting it.

You know, they don't have to mention the Joker at all... but I'd like a small little nod. Like a rebuilt Gotham General hospital... not many of the GA would even notice, but for some of the die hards may like it. I would like it simply for the 'reminder' feeling that joker really ****ed stuff up.

then again, its not a big deal...

my biggest complaints so far though...not using the name Catwoman...wtf are they going to call her? Goggles?

call me what you will...but the thought that bane cant take off his mask without extreme pain... so some buff dude has to eat with a straw? lol

Tatelia... i hope she has an ass like talia in Arkham City :hehe:

boobs. no boobs in these movies.
