I've more or less given up and Nolan getting the comic book specifics right, so I'm just letting his whole "I'll just create a new character and not use one from the comics" thing be what it is. I don't expect him to get Batman's suit to look less ridiculous, and that, Bruce and Catwoman having brown hair, etc, stuff like that, I just don't care about at this point. It is what it is.
The main issues I have with the film so far are pretty minor.
Catwoma-err, Selina's mask looks ridiculous. And having her hair pulled back and pinned back essentially robs Hathaway of much of her natural beauty. The result is her looking fairly plain, instead of stunning.
The Bat is a cool concept, but it looks really stupid from the front. The Tumbler looked weird. This thing just looks stupid and clunky.
And the big one for me thus far...much of the dialogue. There are some decent moments we've seen. But Bane talks like a serial villain, and it seems like all the less emotional moments consist of Goyeresque call and response dialogue, or sports references, or melodrama. That annoys me to no end. I was happy with a lot of what Jonah wrote in TDK, but some of the stuff he's put in actors mouths is just wayyy too over the top, and could just be better thought out, polished a bit.
I have some concerns that the acting won't be quite good enough from Bale and Hathaway, but will wait and see the movie.
We'll see soon enough.
