the "2" would make the average moviegoer know that this is indeed the sequel to batman begins. not batman 6 or a flick about a heavily armored medieval person

I tell ya what, this isnt supposed to be for the avg moviegoer. This is for the fans of Batman, Prince of Gotham!

yeah the caped crusader was. but not anymore. the caped crusader is the batman forever, batman and robin interpretation on the character.
to me batman has always been "the dark knight".
its perfect for nolans batfilms.

Love it. It's different, departs from the clique like "2" or "Batman: Does something". And don't worry about the 'average fan', the Bat-Symbol and Bat-Suit will sell it as a Batman movie. Oh and there's a guy called The Joker in it too...

It's not that bad. The Bat-Symbol is very reckognizable, and get's the point across. You'll be seeing the title along with that symbol, plus Bale in the suit. That screams Batman to me. Add the Joker and well who needs the 'Batman name' in the title?
