After the sheer awesomeness that is arkham asylum, which comic title should be next in line? Maybe they should tackle superman, maybe green lantern, maybe they should just hop onto the next batman game. I personally think that a sin city game from these guys would be great. Just imagine the level of detail that went into arkham going into sin city. You would have to have more than one playable character for sure though. Any thoughts?

The next batman, with open city gotham, and every villian that wasn't in BMAA.

Whatever they are passionate about. That's why AA came out so good, because they actually cared about the material and wanted to make a game for people like them. If they want to move on to a different franchise, because it's what they want to do, then I'm all for it. I don't want them to get forced into doing a sequel just because AA did so well.

I want another Batman game from them set in Gotham.

If I'm not mistaken, I think I read somewhere that they're doing the next Hitman game.

bmaa worked because the team was detcated to the project, it had a great story, they kept everythng about batman true to it roots right down to his combat and quick detective skills, and most definitely his gadgets.

i think there are some rather interesting things they can do in open city gotham.

like for every one who wants the batmobile, id have the batmobile available for use at certain times in the game, for example lets say some big villain triggers a type of chase mini game, lets say you as batman parked the bat mobile all the way across town to travel on foot, and he cant get to it or it cant get to him on time to keep a close chase then you have to make the decision of trying to manuver through the gotham skyline on foot to keep in close enough distance of your enemy or you could wait a certain time limit for the batmobile to show up and then try to chase them. but in this case this is where you get different tech uprades like jet propelled glider.

Heads will roll if it isn't the sequel to Batman Arkham Asylum. :cmad:

And please, no free-roam.

Haha, no, thats exactly what they shouldnt do. Batman: Arkham Asylum worked so well because it wasnt that.

Exactly! One great thing about BMAA was they put the hero in a very interesting gaming environment. Instead of having batman running around Gotham like every other game, they put him in the best possible situation. For lack of a better term it was like batman meets die hard. Ha. So what would be another comic franchise that they could adapt this formula to?

I think they should do a sequel to Arkham, and even have some more locations around Gotham, but not a whole city. Arkham Asylum itself was technically free roam, the size of the sand box was just smaller. If you were given a section of Gotham that was roughly the same size as Arkham island, and have a reason that Batman is staying there, it could work. Or hell, have it be the same area, but not all connected. Have batmobile driving levels to connect the different areas you go to.

I could deal with that, maybe 1 whole section the size of arkham, and include two or three sections of gotham varying in size.

And no when I said every villain that wasn't in the first I didn't mean the d listers too, good ones would be mr.freeze, 2face, hush, prometheus, man bat, firefly, clayface, the riddler, pengiun, catwoman, mad hatter, tweedledee and tweedledum, soloman grundy, and some of gothams underworld. And maybe
"SPOILER"
A titan croc from the after credits scene, not nessicarely bigger just more progressed.

Yeah, that's how I want it. Gotham City, but restricted a little bit so it won't overdo it. I do want a multiplayer element where you can fight crime with Nightwing, Red Robin, Batgirl, Robin, and Spoiler.

And for the villains, keep Joker, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Bane, Killer Croc, and Mr. Zsasz in Arkham and have Batman go against the Penguin (with regular thugs), Two-Face (with psychotic thugs), and Black Mask (with supervillain henchmen). Have Riddler and Jason Todd on the side.

The ending is different for other people. I got the ending with Scarecrow grabbing the Titan box. And others have Bane.

I love how you say you want no d-listers, then mention Tweedle Dee & Tweedel Dum.

I would like a FREE ROAM batman game cause it would be awesome. I dont wanna play the same over and over give all of Gotham.

As has been said, and I'll say again, having an entire city like GTAIV with Gotham will cause the game to completely lose it's atmosphere and tone. Could it be pulled off, and done well? Yeah. Would it be pulled off and done well? I really, really doubt it, even from Rocksteady. Maybe something that gave the illusion of a whole city, but wasn't actually one, like doing a video game version of No Man's Land so you can't get down a lot of streets would work.

I want D-listers. We got a nice mix of A-listers and below in Arkham Asylum, not even counting the riddles. Next game we could have a mix of Two-Face, the Penguin (the Iceberg Lounge could be one of the locations you visit), the Mad Hatter, Black Mask (I could see him as the mastermind behind the whole game), Catwoman, Clayface (as Clayface, I mean, not every other character but Clayface ;)), Man-Bat, and Mr. Freeze. I'd love to see some more variety in the thugs, too. Instead of Blackgate prisoners everywhere, each villain would have his own gang with their own theme--Mr. Freeze's goons dress like eskimos, Black Mask has your standard mob enforcers, the Mad Hatter has Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum, Two-Face's goons are all twins who always attack in pairs, etc.

Actually, if they want to rip a story right from the comics, I would kill to see a No Man's Land game. Imagine the chaos of that story applied to an Arkham Asylum-quality video game. :wow:

why is everyone's answer to what would make a good game, to take Character X and put them in GTA style free roam?

I guess the perception is that those games have the most "stuff" to them. Just drop a character in a city and let the player do literally whatever they want in the city.

Linear gameplay works best for Batman, in my opinion, so I'd prefer getting chunks of free-roam areas, like we got in AA: separate sectors that you can run around at your leisure but with very specific missions to propel the story forward. The only difference would be that they're chunks of the city instead of sectors of the asylum and, instead of running through connecting corridors between sectors, you'd hop in the Batmobile in one area, get a loading screen/cutscene, and then you hop out in the next area.

I'd want sectors like Wayne Tower, a meat-packing plant for Mr. Freeze, the Iceberg Lounge for the Penguin, the DA's office or a major bank or something for Two-Face, Crime Alley for Black Mask and his goons, and maybe a showdown with Ra's al Ghul and the League of Assassins in Wayne Manor and the Batcave.

I had a discussion with somebody just the other day about this (and by discussion I mean heated nerd battle) - I was against the idea of a free-roam Batman and he was for it. Of course for a while this person said his best game ever was Saint's Row so I don't listen to him very often.

In terms of free roam Batman, I think it could work really well if based off a No Man's Land. Use a map showing everyone's different sections of the city in a different color and your job is to continuously expand Batman's territory, kind of like the Gang Wars in GTA: San Andreas. Obviously there would be more variety, but that would be the basic concept. Have the rest of the Bat family around that you can play as to take care of various special cases or defending parts of the city Bats has already reclaimed.

As for other heroes, I'd like to see a Flash game, he's got a great rogues gallery that could work really well.
