What game should rocksteady do next?

If it ain't broken don't fix it, they have a good thing going with arkham so I don't see why they go and make a free roam game. I agree with corp that linear gameplay works best for batman. Should be interesting whats next though, do they ever release the sales figure for games, cause if AA is a huge hit (which it seems like it is) then we'll definitely be seeing a sequel probably to coincide with the next batman film.

In terms of free roam Batman, I think it could work really well if based off a No Man's Land. Use a map showing everyone's different sections of the city in a different color and your job is to continuously expand Batman's territory, kind of like the Gang Wars in GTA: San Andreas. Obviously there would be more variety, but that would be the basic concept. Have the rest of the Bat family around that you can play as to take care of various special cases or defending parts of the city Bats has already reclaimed.

As for other heroes, I'd like to see a Flash game, he's got a great rogues gallery that could work really well.
Now the Flash is the kind of hero that could really benefit from a free-roam game. Speeding around the city would be awesome.

I think they should do a sequel to Arkham, and even have some more locations around Gotham, but not a whole city. Arkham Asylum itself was technically free roam, the size of the sand box was just smaller. If you were given a section of Gotham that was roughly the same size as Arkham island, and have a reason that Batman is staying there, it could work. Or hell, have it be the same area, but not all connected. Have batmobile driving levels to connect the different areas you go to.

I like your ideas. I'd NOT want a freeroam of a whole city. I especially like the bolded part in your text.

I guess the perception is that those games have the most "stuff" to them. Just drop a character in a city and let the player do literally whatever they want in the city.

Linear gameplay works best for Batman, in my opinion, so I'd prefer getting chunks of free-roam areas, like we got in AA: separate sectors that you can run around at your leisure but with very specific missions to propel the story forward. The only difference would be that they're chunks of the city instead of sectors of the asylum and, instead of running through connecting corridors between sectors, you'd hop in the Batmobile in one area, get a loading screen/cutscene, and then you hop out in the next area.

I'd want sectors like Wayne Tower, a meat-packing plant for Mr. Freeze, the Iceberg Lounge for the Penguin, the DA's office or a major bank or something for Two-Face, Crime Alley for Black Mask and his goons, and maybe a showdown with Ra's al Ghul and the League of Assassins in Wayne Manor and the Batcave.

Great stuff too!

I'd like a gotham, with free roam sections like arkham, but this time were in the city so we need more city elements, like pedestrians and what not, also I'd like for it to be somewhat bigger than arkham island. I like the driving idea like drive or ride from section to section, I'd like at least 1 chance to use the batwing. As for villians there ere a lot of good ones that would be great editions to the story, I don't read much of dcs comics so I really wouldn't know what story would work best, although I did read a serious house on a serious earth.

Superman, if they can do a game like this for Batman, then I can't possibly imagine what they could do for Superman.

The only thing is that supes need an open area cause flies everywhere he goes.

Yeah, Superman requires all kinds of different gameplay from Batman. I don't think one developer would necessarily be great at making games for both characters. But I'd certainly be interested in seeing how Rocksteady approached a Superman game.

After some careful thought, I'm thinking that if Rocksteady takes the fantastic elements of BAA, they could make one HELL of a Predator game.
