Yeah, most of MCU's black heroes are usually the sidekicks. Even Nick Fury is more a supporting role. Despite the fact that Nick Fury has carried his own comic book and has Sam L Jackson playing him, I doubt we'll see a Nick Fury solo film. And that Black Panther film isn't gonna happen anytime soon. If The Rock is playing Shazam, DC/WB has an opportunity to do something that Marvel hasn't.

I still want a movie about a young Nick Fury based on the earliest Steranko Nick Fury stuff in the comics.

I remember him being good in The Day the Earth Stood Still remake, and while his character was annoying in The Karate Kid, he played the role as well as it could have been played. Maybe his parents total involvement disparage his actual efforts?

Regarding the age of Billy, I see them casting young for future sequels. If they cast too old, the actor may be an early bloomer in terms of aging where it would look odd for him to transform.
