Katie Holmes actually did a decent job with Rachel Dawes. Not sure where the hate comes from, might have a lot to do with Katie Holmes rather than the character, although I can't fathom why.

Don't see how she was "leading him on" either. Her assessment at the end of him always needing Batman was pretty correct.
Same, I thought Katie Holmes did just fine. I think people dogging her has more to do with their feelings towards her as a person and not how she actually performed in the film itself.
Iron Man. Its the only film on this poll that could truly be ranked among the greats.

Hell, MOS and ASM aren't even the best origin films in their respective franchises, which is why its a good thing this is a poll for post BB origin films.
Agreed. It's not even a question.

Definitely Iron Man. From beginning to end that movie is incredible. I remember being in the theater thinking "this movie is something special" and then the final scene where he throws the superhero movie secret identity shtick out the window solidified it for me. "I am Iron Man." :stark:

Cap and IM are tied for me, but I chose Cap.
1. Cap
2. IM
3. Thor
4. Man of Steel
5. Amazing Spider-man (prefer the original movie's origin)
6. TIH (not really an origin story)

:highfive:
Right back at ya!
I chose Cap because by golly that movie is filled with so much heart. And I LOVE the WW2 Indiana Jones feel.
But then IM is like a modern day classic. That is definitely a fantastic movie. Very stylish with great music and Tony is a great lead. Really cemented IM as a major superhero.
So really it came down to personal preference for me. They're both awesome.

Wish we got another WWII Cap movie first. His time in battle felt rushed, a montage of strike missions then the final and that's it

Yeah definitely. Would've liked to see more of his adventures and more building of his relationship with Bucky. That would've made TWS even more effective.
But it all turned out okay. I'm happy with the trade-off, because we got the Avengers out of it. lol

Suprising Iron was as goo as it was without a proper script

Man of Steel: I liked the epic science fiction feel, as well as us getting to see Krypton. Casting a bit of ambiguity on Clark's parents, plus Zod's motivation, made this my favorite origin since BB.

Thor: I'm a sucker for a good science-fantasy; Thor delivers in this respect and balances out the somber elements with just the right touch of humor.

These I liked throughout, whereas the other options I could more easily pick and chose what I did and did not like.

Iron Man, I reckon. Better than Begins as well. No awkward tonal shifts, no cheap cop out moral climax that mars Batman's no kill policy, and no bad action sequences.

Thor is a fine origin fluff as well. Well acted and dramatized. Loki is a truly sympathetic villain here.

Cap.

And I like every movie in the poll more than Batman Begins. The action sequences in that movie are so bad I can barely tell what the hell is happening.

Strange a poll and I love all the options, for me it has to be Man of Steel mostly due to my Superman bias but I definitely love all these.

I'd rank them:

1. Man of Steel
2. Captain America: The First Avenger
3. The Amazing Spider-Man
4. Iron Man
5. The Incredible Hulk
6. Thor

BB is probably one of my favorite origin films, but I would have to say Iron Man. I mean, let's be, honest, IM took a character that was B level in the comics, and almost completely unknown to the general public, and has turned him into one of the most popular superheros in the world. No other film has done that, except GOTG, but that didn't really give us the "origin" of characters per say. Though, if you count the origin as the origin of the team, I would say GOTG is best since BB.

Iron Man was done very well in the case the origin did not saturate the film completely. They focused on what they needed like the cave for example. They could had actual scenes of him as a kid building stuff but yeah. The way they covered that was done well. It's hard not to grant this film that, being that it was the second biggest and best comic book/origin film since Begins. With that said, I think we maybe a little biased because these two were among the first. Thor, Hulk, etc. all just kind of followed. Yet, in the end I voted Spider-Man, haha.
