Comics What power level should Jean return with?

haha, the only time Rachel had good hair was when she returned in Cable. She's looked a hot mess every other time

I was kinda digging the Farrah-flip she had when she first joined Storm's XSE.

I'll admit, the all-flaring-red effect makes Jean looks cool, and makes her different from other telepaths, but other than that, I don't think PF adds any more points to Jean's character in most of the plots.

Yet you have a nice quote from Phoenix/Jean in your signature.

"It's all right, Scotty. I'm here, and always will be... with you and within you. You dreamed of me when you were an orphaned child. Your heart jumped the day we met, and you'll reach for my hand the day you die." (Phoenix)-- Phoenix Endsong #4

She is referencing this event from the Classic X-Men #42 backstory where Jean as an 11 year old girl reaches out with an aspect of her mind as the Phoenix and touches Scott's mind in the orphanage. Scott thinks he is dreaming.

And still he dumped her and made out with Emma on her grave... how sad :p

so did she..or does tonguing down Logan not count?

Scott cheated while they were still married.
Cheating on someone does not equal dumping someone. Even though he was having a psychic affair with Jean, he did not leave her or end their marriage. Maybe he might have in the future, but her death pretty much made it a moot point

Yeah she influenced Xorneto to kill her so he wouldn't dump her :p

#3. She had it before, she should stick with it.

I'd like to see her return with the power to die immediately and never come back.

I love that everybody thinks a character as powerful as Phoenix wouldn't be able to work with an Earth-based superhero team like the X-Men.

Because god knows Thor didn't pull it off for decades.*

*there is no smilie to express how hard my eyes are rolling

Lol, really? Tell me an X-villain that can't get his ass handed to him by Jean single-handedly. Iceman and Storm are powerful enough to handle a whole villain team and yet they are always downplayed to suit the team effort thing and neither of them are powerful enough to pull it off anyway (at least they try not to). They cannot do that to Jean because she is the freaking Phoenix, you do not downplay that hot Phoenixy mess.

So are Storm and Iceman powerful enough to take out a whole villain team by themselves or not? you said that they could and couldn't all in the same sentence.

That and Thor is what? The God of Thunder? he is an upgrade of Storm...they do the same things..except Thor does them much better...in my opinion..because he should...he's been doing them forever.

Jean however is all powerful as the Phoenix...what can't she do? other than have the ability to NOT be able to die? I mean a laser beam and a rod(respectively) taking out the all-mighty-all powerful she-bi_ch?

Then give the X-Men more powerful villains. There's really nothing the X-Men can't handle that the Avengers have tackled. They need some villains on that level.

Jean wasn't all-powerful the first time she turned into the Phoenix. She was pretty damn powerful, but she was really just working with an upgraded version of her normal powers.

I hve to agree with Manic, the first time she was Phoenix she wasn't über powerful, and it was a great character to follow. What annoyed me was her second transformation into Phoenix, the story was over and beautiful told, why dwelve again and repeat something and worst of all, do it so very poorly and with so many continuity glitches?

About the villains: I always wanted to see the X-Men fight someone like Kang, or Ultron, and Annuhilus, they definetely gotta go to the Negative Zone sometime. There's supposedly a confrontation with Thanos, that was mentioned in Captain Marvel's (Genis) book, but sadly we never saw it on paper, just that little panel.

it would be awesome to have the X-Men face some Marvel U villains and not just their regular rogues' gallery....X-men vs. Kang and Ultron would be awesome... can adamantium cut through itself? Wolverine vs. Ultron... or the Sinister Six taking on the X-Men....Thanos vs. the X-Men would be awesome.... Sandman vs. Dust...ok that would suck..but u get my point

Could Doom take down the X-Men?

By the time she became Dark Phoenix she had Silver Surfer shaking in his boots.

yeah as Dark Phoenix, but CC was writing her out. He had her power levels under control when she was a viable memeber on the team

I dont even think she was all that uber powerful when she was alive with the PF in New X-men. Her levels werent over the charts and she wasnt this big cosmic entity. I did feel though that giving the PF to her was unnecesary as she wasnt doing much that Jean couldnt do without it.

I guess, but she was still pulling off Omega-level stuff. She just wasn't "undefeatable."

I didn't say she was über powerful during Morrison's crap, I mean run, I merely said I didn't like that they brought back the story in such a convoluted way, ignoring continuity and making no true sense at all.

He just retconned the retcon that made Phoenix a separate entity.

which made a lot of sense for having Jean around, and seeing like everyone is currently being able to use the Phoenix Force there is no doubt it is a separate entity.
