Homecoming What should they do with the Spidey franchise? - Part 2

I remember Tobey was offered like $20M to be in Spider-Man 4 and that was considered a pretty big deal (whether or not this was true). I doubt Andrew would get paid nearly that amount, same with Emma Stone. I wouldn't be surprised if Jamie Foxx cost a lot of money though.

Their price tags got revealed with the leaks I believe, but it feels weird digging for people's personal info like that so I never checked

I agree. I have no interest in knowing how much these actors got paid. I wouldn't want anyone to know about my own personal financial information, so I won't do that to these actors I care about so much.

The only thing I'm interested in knowing about is the discussion of Spider-Man being in the MCU.

I don't think they did. This is the first I have heard of any thing about leaks when it comes to how much they made. The crazy thing Is I heard that RDJ only made 1 million for iron man 1 yet by avengers he got like 50-50 million.

Maybe they didn't, a lot of big celebrities did though so I do think his was out there somewhere.

And yea RDJ's is crazy, but at least he fought to give his co stars raises too. That was a nice guy move

I kind of think Spidey would benefit from 'Marvel Team-Up' style films, with guys like Daredevil, Punisher, Blade, and Doctor Strange.

Daredevil and Blade especially, since we could see some REALLY great stories with them and Spidey going up against Kingpin and Morbius, The Living Vampire.

The best thing they could do is reboot Spider-Man with a 2020 solo movie produced by Marvel, but not give him an origin story again. Just give us a pre-opening run-down on his story. Cast an actor that can do a closed mini-series, but also having the potential to blow up on the big screen just in time for Infinity War would be great. Have the series take place after he's been bitten, and he's still a fledgling Spider-Man, but in no need of an origin story. There's no cannon beyond Peter being Spider-Man for a period of time after Avengers 1 and 2. We can start by him chronicling events after both films as a photographer for the Daily Bugle with him moonlighting as Spider-Man in his off-hours. The season could end with a lead-in to Infinity War Part I in 2018 and set up for a new trilogy of movies afterwards. I'd include a post-credits scene in Part II where Spider-Man brings the symbiote to Earth which would set up his own solo film the following year...

Spider-Man: The Alien Costume

Scorpion as the main villain with a subplot involving Sin Eater. Scorpion goes rogue after he learns that his powers are killing him and there's currently no cure which causes him to seek revenge on Kingpin who Gargan claims tricked him.Eddie Brock names an innocent man as the identity of Sin Eater, but gets fired after his story is proven wrong by Spider-Man who almost kills the real Sin Eater in a fit of rage. Post-credits scene shows Brock become bonded to the symbiote in a church.

Sony was really pushing for annual Spidey films at one time (hence those awful spinoff ideas). I think a good way to do an annual Spidey franchise would be to work with Marvel, let them use Spidey when they need him in Avengers films, get access to Marvel characters (within reason) in team-up films, and do the occasional spin-off that doesn't suck (so nothing with Aunt May the spy). Spider-Man films could be on a three year cycle. For example:

Year 1: Spider-Man (MCU reboot)
Year 2: Spider-Man & Daredevil (Spidey and DD teaming up to go against Kingpin, with Black Cat in a supporting role)
Year 3: Black Cat
Year 4: Spider-Man 2
etc.

Why would Marvel make a Black cat movie?

If a deal involves a co-production, and if Sony still wants an annual Spidey franchise, spinoffs will have to be a part of that. You can't expect the actor playing Spider-Man to make a Spider-Man film every single year with Avengers appearances on top of that. Black Cat could easily spinoff from a Spidey/Daredevil team-up (particularly if they draw from the Ultimate version where she was working a job involving Kingpin). I'm certainly not suggesting a $150,000,000 Black Cat film, either. It could be a modestly budgeted film releasing in an off month. Later on down the line (after a proper symbiote arc) the spinoffs could be Venom films. It doesn't make much sense to jump right into that, though. It's highly unlikely Marvel will jump right into Venom in the first film. It'll be someone like Mysterio, Kraven, or Vulture (street level as opposed to cosmic space stuff, basically).

I'm honestly not expecting an announcement of any kind until SDCC.

Point taken.

That actually sounds pretty cool

Yeah that was nice and I guess part of why he made so much was I heard he got a sort % of what the movie made or something and of course avengers made a lot of money. Any changes that avengers 2 makes 2 billion?

I think we will get news any day now. We have just had to many rumors to the point where we have got to get news soon the rumors cant last forever with out real news and with the spider sumbimt some times this month I think they have to say something.

Reboot it in the MCU. Cast Tom Holland, give him a small role in Civil War before getting his own solo film.

I'd like to see Vulture as the bad guy and my favorite to play him would be Michael Keaton.
