Marvel are going to want to announce it to lots of fanfare and attention and make DC's announcement look drab and boring.

I'm just going off of recent rumours, news and a gut feeling... it seems far too big to just be a phase 3 announcement, that's all. I mean, phase 3 would be great too, but the hype is too big for that.

It's incredibly likely that this is regarding SPIDER-MAN.

It'd do or die for Spidey joining the MCU. If not right before they set up their Civil War storyline then when? If they pass on Spidey, he will never join the MCU, period. Sony will continue trying to create their own cinematic universe with cheesy spin-offs and mediocre Spider-Man films... SIGH*

it would be abit premature to announce this in 2014 otherwise

and even then the question is... is it garfield?... so they won't have to introduce a rebooted version in a story thats for captain america which tony will have a big role in when there has been no hint of the web crawlers existence, thats gonna be abit rushed in development

There's no leverage in the storyline, nobody cares about the current Avengers "unmasking". Spidey needs to be in it, give the audience something to care about.
