Homecoming What should they do with the Spidey franchise?

What should be done?

  • Reboot Spidey and let him join the MCU

  • Add TASM universe to the MCU

another example of studio conflict would be if say tony stark has a random funny/witty line in the script since his character has got that sorta personality and then sony read it and say hey why is tony stark getting that line we want spider-man to get that line

i don't think sony will be as desperate as people think in this so marvel can just say yeah we know you are desperate we will take a cameo to help boost your character and sony will just be like ok thank you marvel we will take what you can give us

studios joining together doesn't happen often for a reason, infact even if they had put the oscorp building in the avengers i wonder how much time that would have took in planning and agreeing between the studio just for that one thing

What time are the announcements starting today for Marvel?

If it were really getting a reboot could we please get an actual young high school aged non-cool looking/hipster kid for once?
You, I like you.

Disney is providing Press with Wifi at the Marvel event (not a norm for the movie theatre setting), seems to suggest news will be breaking.

I'm really hoping Spidey gets mentioned somewhere...

One of his 5 guesses for their announcements was Spidey!

There are only a few things where you would have a large event like this and provide wifi to the press.

Wait. Spidey's coming home!

To be honest, this is the only way Sony can renew people's interest back in Spidey. Allow him in some Marvel Studio movies.

I agree. I mean look at Batman.

We saw a more fantasy, gothic, noir type world in Burton's Batman with how he designed Gotham and the villains.

Nolan gave us a much different take being more realistic.

There isn't much you can do for Batman next to get people interested. I mean fans online hate Nolan's take for some reason but the GA loves it. Having him with Superman feels fresh.

You can't really be as creative in Spidey's world as you can with Batman and Superman's because Spidey's villains roughly has stayed the same along with the fact he takes place in NYC.

I remember Burton's Superman Lives artwork had a more futuristic Metropolis like a society on the pennicle of human.

You can't really do that with Peter Parker.

Well, just over

Will be an exciting hour

Unless it is just Avengers footage

Which'd suck but oh well

All the rumours and news over the last few months from both Marvel and Sony just makes it pretty likely that this event is about Spidey.

Even if Marvel Studios were to get back the movie making rights back from Sony, another reboot wouldn't be really on cards soon, Marvel has already made plans for their movies and the fact that Spider-Man is nowhere as popular in the minds of general audience as it was at the time of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2.

I'm speaking of a hypothetical scenario but, the third reboot would kill the franchise, I think Marvel would just wait till 2020 to reboot the franchise or maybe after some time get him into a Netflix series (which would suck.)

TASMverse in the MCU would be nice. Wouldn't require much change, just a reference and an updated timeline.

Yea I'm convinced it's Spidey related. You don't hold a news conference to announce Phrase 3 films. You could do that at Comic-Con in 2015 considering we know Cap 3, Dr Strange, Thor 2, and GOTG 2 are confirmed for Phrase 3.

It's gotta be Spidey related.

Let's look at the facts and rumours:

- Sony are changing their direction with Spidey
- Marvel and Sony are allegedly having talks
- Andrew Garfield has signed a new contract
- Marvel are holding a big event and are providing the press with wi-fi, suggesting that this news is pretty big
- The Russo Bros have said (don't hold me to this, I may be mistaken) "there are characters we're using that we don't even have the rights too".

Hmm... Spider-Man.

There was a rumor that he signed a contract to play Spidey all the way to 2020.
