This is just speculation on my part but I think talks are on going. If they weren't KF would have shut the rumour down but he didn't. KF has nothing to gain by not nipping a rumour in the bud if there was nothing to it.

Basically, he is not going to comment on private conversations he's already had with Arad. And that the two are VERY, VERY far apart. That's all you need to know regarding Spidey. As of now, Spidey will be relegated to stacked mid summer releases in June/early July because I don't see Marvel giving up any of those positions for PIII.

For the sake of balance, I think another Spider-Man movie as things stand right would make 650-700m. Spider-Man appearing in the Avengers would enjoy a boost of roughly 200m when he next appears in his solo movie. At this point Sony NOT doing a deal with Marvel is biting off their nose to spite their face. I would be worth it to Sony if Spidey appeared in Avengers Infinity War and they didn't receive a penny because they would win extra publicity.

ASM3 will happen or Sony lose the rights. Unless a cameo in a movie (S6) counts as a movie within a 5 year period.

At this point, things look bleak. I think X-Men Apocalypse, Cap 3, and BvS leaves little to no room for TAS3 or S6. Unless they want an August release date, which can work for a lower level spinoff, but not a Spidey movie. I do think Sony will have some form of Spidey out by summer 2017. I don't think they are throwing in the towel just yet.

Yea what was I thinking? Let's have Spidey cameo in Avengers instead of having a 12 hour Spidey film and having him, a street level hero, team up with other street level heroes.
