I would just introduce the Goblin getup as Harry’s Halloween costume. Maybe Midtown High or ESU is holding a costume contest, and Harry spends a lot of money on a really impressive cloaked green goblin costume. Norman and Harry have had a really tumultuous relationship, and perhaps something really awful happens between them on Halloween. For example, Harry defies Norman, and Norman (at his wits end) becomes physically abusive. Harry wearing this costume on Halloween is Norman’s first “encounter” with the Goblin. Shortly after taking a serum or experimenting with chemicals at Oscorp, Norman begins having these hallucinations of the same cloaked goblin figure berating him and coaxing him into acting on the violent thoughts that he’s been having lately. When Norman finally submits to these destructive thoughts, he wears the goblin mask and remnants of the torn and muddied purple cloak over a black (or dark green) bodysuit that was designed to be worn with his glider. The costume not only becomes a physical manifestation of Norman’s insanity and a physical representation of the evil that lies within all of us, but also symbolizes Norman and Harry’s complex relationship. Since Harry was seen wearing the mask first, you could even pull a TSSM, and have the audience (and Peter) believe for a while that the Green Goblin is really Harry instead of Norman.

I'd frankly been done with the Osborn's and the Goblin saga. Two versions is enough for now. I would hope the next Spiderman Sony / MCU film would try to focus on a newer deadlier threat(s) which isn't a scientist who's a misunderstood father figure to Peter. If that means the creation of an original villain , I'd be down for that too, as long as their compelling and actually evil.

Make Adrian Toomes take the place of Kingpin, since we can't use him.Make Alex O'Hirn his son.Alex gets blown up in a car bomb, and only his face, heart, and lungs, survive the explosion.

He is put into a Rhino suit, kinda like the new Robo Cop movie did.Make Kraven the one who caused the accident when he was wearing spider-man's costume pretending to be him.

You need to come up with original things to keep the franchise fresh, because people are starting to get sick of it.We can't just keep showing the same villains with the same story along with it.

I like the idea, I was just unsure if you were being serious about it. :funny:

The only thing I don't like is the RHINO being Vulture's son thing, but other than that, I'd be completely on board with everything!

I don't think there's any place for Giamatti's Aleksei that isn't akward :funny: just imagine him interacting with diabolical doc ock

"let's put the r'tard in a rhino suit, it'll be priceless"

Plot twist: Aleksei was trying to steal from Oscorp in the beginning of TASM2, so they figured the best way to get rid of him would be to hire him to do a job they knew he couldn't handle.

Please Drew, tell me you're reading this. This is perfect.

:whatever:

mind =blown :wow::wow::wow:

I really like your idea! Why didn't the writers come up with this?? ^^
it's cool, makes sense and is believable

You can just make Alex O'Hirn a thug in Toomes mob.

Agreed completely.

I was just giving an example of how the Goblin's costume could be realistically adapted for live action and worked into the narrative. If/when another reboot happens, they should definitely focus on newer stories and villains before even touching upon the Goblin saga.

I'm waiting for neil to 'plausibly explain' the ridiculous helmet Gobby wore in the first Raimi movie. Military applications my ass.

It looked rubbish. There was a plausible reason for the costume but the costume looked crap.

Good explanation that I would totally buy as a member of the audience.

Sign him/her up now Marvel! :D

Besides the fact that I don't think the MCU/X-Men/Spider-Man franchises should ever mix onscreen, I think folding Spider-Man into the MCU would be kind of an admission of failure for Sony.

"Well...we really couldn't make this work."

Another explanation for the Goblin costume I always thought would be interesting is if they bring back the whole "Norman likes Peter more than Harry" plot. Have Harry find out about Peter's powers and decide to impress his Dad by making his own costumed identity, with failed results. Said costume is, of course, the Green Goblin. Later, when Norman takes the serum and loses it, he stumbles across Harry's suit and puts it on, flying out to wrech havok on the city.

Only if you go shopping at the bargain bin for writers.

Yeah, just leave it Sony to find some good writers and come up with reasons for the colors or whatever else. Label someone a professional writer and yet they still turn out garbage. Depressing. Especially when someone on the Hype can come up with an idea that trumps everything we've seen so far as in this example....

Awesome job, sl500jazz. Why can't those 'professional' writers come up with stuff like this? Boggling.

I have zero faith in TASM 3, let alone the S6 movie. I'm hoping this all gets canned by the end of the year. Imagine they did? Would this thread close down? The entire TASM 3 thread?

Each to their own but I am very much looking forward to casting news which we should here soon seeing as filming starts next year.

Some character concept art would also be gratefully received.

Filming for the S6? Do we even have a confirmed 6?
