Zak Penn's Avengers script was showed to Whedon when he was interested in being the Avengers director.

Whedon basically trashed the script calling it garbage and wrote a new one.

Zak Penn wrote X3, Elecktra, Daredevil, and Incredible Hulk which Ed Norton rewrote.

Him and Goyer are my top 2 picks for writers for TASM3.

Unless X3 and Electra weren't his fault then maybe I'll keep an eye on him but looking at his other films I say **** no and no to goyer as well. I really don't trust the two

Well when you are dealing between the series and the audience they would compare it to batman and Edward Cullen because they love mocking the new series but hopefully Sony doesn't go too far with it nor take it away when some moments are necessary

I don't want to write a huge wall of text, but in short, I want:

A) A fun and exciting Spider-Man that works great as a blockbuster/popcorn flick
B) A genuinely good and well-written movies with good character arcs and plot twists

I loved seeing TASM2 at the cinema, but as soon as you started to think about it and analyze it, the movie just fell apart. I really want TASM3 to be like Avengers, The Dark Knight or X-Men: Days of Future Past. On that level of awesomeness.

Scrap the Sinister Six film idea and use the ideas for that film in ASM3. Peter would find the alien costume which would give him power over his enemies, but also corrupt him.

Peter is like 21 in that last scene of ASM2, right? So he could be 22/23 in S6? Ok then make him adult in ASM3. I was expecting Peter to be a teen in all three movies but in the end we had like 3 high school scenes. LOL

flash was in the movie in the roguh cut but only had a few scenes like maybe 45 seconds, 5 minutes and 3 minutes judging by the pics

I've been thinking since the film came out (and disappointed me) what the third should do to win be back. Most of these opinions are probably not on anyone's list of priorities, but I'm just gonna spew em out, because at this point? It's all completely unlikely.

- Explain Dr. Ratha's disappearance. Even if it takes 20 seconds of back logs at the daily bugle saying the Lizard ate him. Or make him the Chameleon. IDC.
- Conclude Uncle Ben's killer arc. Even if it's just Peter saying, "I'm done searching Uncle Ben, now we can both be at peace."
- Green Goblin is NORMAN. I don't even care that Harry was the first goblin. As long as Norman returns and is the SUPERIOR goblin.
- Be extremely careful with MJ. They've truly set themselves up for failure with Peter's love life. We are all attached to Gwen. If they replace her in anyway, I for one will be disgusted.
- SLOW DOWN. IDK about the rest of you, but I don't need to see Sinister 6 for another 3 or 4 films. I dont need to see Venom for another 5 or 6 years. Slow down and focus on Peter's daily struggles again (that's what makes Spider-Man so relatable. There's gotta be a happy medium between Raimi and Webb in this regard.
- Bring in the Bugle for cripes sake.
- Film back to back? Screw the time-lapses. Get a couple films going at once. That way we don't have to suspend disbelief for Andrew as a 20 year old college student.
- Focus on the details. This is what (I believe) Marvel Studios gets so incredibly right. The background easter eggs and the cohesive nature of all 10 of their films.

Start there and we'll talk.

well, Spidey definitely has the best chemistry with Wolverine out of all the heroes, but yeah he's not MCU. but if it would have to be MCU, Dare Devil would probably be the best when excluding Avengers

i also thought he had better chemistry with carol danvers. i would've been on board with him dating a superpowered woman and an avenger but too bad that won't ever happen.

and yes, spiderman totally works best at street level. i mean in the avengers writers like roger stern wrote him into a *****ebag and bendis wrote him as an immature and annoying comic relief. hell, i don't think i ever see him fight that much in bendis' run.

Yeah the action was definitely a step up from TASM, but I don't think Webb has nailed down Spider-Man action yet. TASM2's action was a lot of emphasis on destruction. (guns shooting, bullets breaking x, Electro's bolts destructing numerous things...)
I just wanna see more Spidey vs x.

Don't see how mentions of some non-Spider-Man characters can in any way change the quality of a movie.

A return to the grit that was in The Amazing Spider-man. That film felt like it existed in our world. It had light, fun, funny moments -- but it was also a lot more real than its sequel.

The Amazing Spider-man 2 was candy-colored and bright. It looks like almost a completely different film from the first in the series. If we weren't dealing with the same cast, you'd think it was a reboot. The tone was so dramatically shifted. Webb and Sony definitely got spooked by people not taking directly with the new, grittier tone of the series. So, they lightened it up, instead of sticking to their guns. If they had stuck to their guns -- I think the sequel would have done better.

And this is speaking as a someone who really enjoyed The Amazing Spider-man 2. I just know that it certainly had tone issues, and if they had kept it closer to the first film's tone it would have helped things.

Return to the original tone.

Here's how I would handle these films

Spiderman and the Sinister Six

* Cast higher profile and/or more respected actors in the roles of the villains leaving out the campy ones such as Electro and Rhino.
*Have the film be from the villains perspective but have Spiderman featured throughout out as the "villain" as it were culminating in a finale confrontation between Spiderman and the Sinister Six in which they are defeated.
* Have it be a self contained story which is resolved at the end.


ASM 3
* A twenty something Peter Parker
* Truly evil and worthy opponent(s) .No more of this misunderstood, good guy at heart crap. Give us a true villain, even if that means an original villain created for the film .
*Leave the Oscorp stuff at the door and work that baggage out in the spin off films.
* Introduction of MJ as a character who actually has a purpose in the plot as opposed to just being a love interest for the sake of having a love interest
* Return to the heart of what makes Spiderman Spiderman: His struggles, his underdog status, and his triumphs in spite of adversity. Lose the broody cw stuff.
* Give us a story which is its own self contained adventure ala the Bond films as opposed to being heavily dependent on storylines from other films.

Spider-girl
Use this character as the female led Spin off which would odviously take place in the future with a 40 something Peter and MJ with their daughter taking up the Spider mantle.

It's really hard for me to get behind this movie. I really wish they would slow things down. First thing I wish they would do, is cancel Sinister Six. I still think they can go through 2-3 more movies before we see the SS on screen. I think developing them over time is the better approach. A build up to that movie would be fantastic. Here's how I could see them doing it without a Sinister Six film.

TASM3 - Vulture
You could introduce Otto Octavius on the side working with Toomes. I would love to see them working together on the suits we see in Oscorp. It could explain why they're there and their connection with Harry. I also think there should be a love interests(or someone they care about) involved with both Toomes and Octavius who end up dying/killed at the hands of Oscorp, only to have The Gentlemen/Harry Osborn blame it on Spider-Man. It would explain their hatred for him. Then have a little cliffhanger of Octavius donning the tentacles vowing revenge on Spider-Man.

I won't go into detail with the rest of the movies, but it would look like that below. This is all wishful thinking on my part. It's really sad the route they're taking. It's just something I'm gonna have to live with.

TASM4 - Doc Ock
TASM5 - Kraven/Chameleon (What I love here about Chameleon, is that he could turn himself into Harry, Toomes, Octavious and Alexi to toy with Spider-Man, as well as giving the audience a reminder of the past villains before Sinister Six)
