...... did you just plug a segment on your podcast :sly:

At this point my life is plugging segments on my podcast.

So now that you are a back to back champ what's the first proclamation from your administration. Were I you m'lord I would declare the Deathmatches illegal. Thus ensuring no possible usurpation of power. An empowering a secret police to enforce "morals" might also be a good idea. Plays to the rubes and gives you the authority to deal with disloyal elements on the Hype.

If you haven't read the David Hulk run yet flick please do. What is done with Rick under David is to take a character that's been in the comics so central to so many heroes and teams and stories and turn the dial up to 11. The MCU should have had that character in from the get go. Plus we'd get moments like this in all it's old school comic book absurdity.

I'll give it a look at some point.

honestly, id say deathmatches should be nothing but tag teams... 2-3 people... its way more fun.

however id start with banning that idiot who made the dumbass BvS joke. but that's just me. I hate DC/Marvel ********.

and truth be told... GUTS was supposed to tie it.

oh and as for the secret moral police... i've tried. the mods won't give me the go ahead.

Snailbusters.

That's how it's been in every iteration, though, not just this film. The Hulk is more of a plot device than a character. This movie did him better than the past, that's for sure. But it's not nearly enough to make me think he could carry a film. Ruffalo could, of course - but the problem with it being a superhero film is that all his inevitable big heroic moments would be taken by a big CGI plot device. Which works just fine for movies like this where he's not the central focus. But when you put his journey center stage, it gets a bit murky, imo.

I disagree. Hulk's always been a fully thinking, emotional character in the comics with his own arc. There was 12 years of Peter David's run where this is the case, Greg pak's extensive run, Bill Mantlo's time in the 80s...

You really only need to look at the Hulk comics in the last 20-25 years to see that it's not just the Banner show with a Hulk action scene. It's two protagonists struggling with each other's existence despite the fact that there fundamentally necessary to each other. The films and cartoons haven't really captured that, but that doesn't mean that the character is fundamentally broken.

You must flick. You truly must. David's run on the Hulk is legendary for a good reason. I can see it's last gasp of the old school stylings being oft putting a bit but once you get into it it's an amazing run. David took the disparate threads that had been left to simply lay fallow for years in the Hulk's story and then slowly built them up into one of the great runs that improved the mythology and honored all that came before, yet still was it's own thing. And it's insanely FUNNY and self aware without going full on "wink-wink" at the reader. Rick is a big part of that. His clarity of describing the gamma radiation as secondary to Bruce's MPD from the abuse he and his mother suffered under his father was kinda revolutionary at the time.

David basically has more ownership over Hulk than Lee and Kirby, imo.

Yes, I've heard David's run is rather definitive before. Will definitely give it a shot.

For the record, I was just referring to his movie iterations. Banner has been the character, Hulk is the action/plot device. That's how it's been for 5 movies now. I guess changing that would be the key to making him work as a lead.

Before you start the PAD run, you should give it a go since Incredible Hulk 313 (or 314?), it's good to entertaining lead up to his run, and kinda essential in explaining how the gray Hulk happened again.

Thanks for the tip.

And while we're at it; Rick Jones is the Jimmy Olson of Marvel Comics, two characters I have a great deal of appreciation for, and would love to see them respected on film.

Some would say that's sacrilege... I say it's sacrilicious. :hmr:

David's imprint has been the template followed... Jesus close to 30 years now right?

Yeah, you'd be suprised, there's a fair amount of dissent from the comic fans about how the character's been done on film. AoU was hated for making him mute and animalistic. But thankfully I think Feige understands Hulk needs s character.

Yeah, honestly David was to me the comic equivalent to Stephen King. The man revolutionised the way we look at dramidy in comics. The death of Betty Ross still gets me.

I'm waiting in the theatre for Thor. It appears to be 115 degrees in here... Celsius.

But I got a collector cup with a Hela topper, so... It balances out.

I don't know Celsius. Is that hot or cold? :p

Really disappointed with Thor Ragnarok...

...they didn't even try to include Rick James.

So House of Cards is gone for good.

As much as i hate Kevin Spacey's action i am legit going to miss that show, literally my favorite netflix show and the reason i discovered netflix back in the first place.

Damn shame. :(

Been hitting the sauce eh? Someone call this man a cab!
