What would you do if you discovered a real life mutant? Or that you were one?

To be honest, this sounds completely the opposite of "good use", but I'd probably use my powers to get a comrotable of money and/or resources (by whatever means necessary), then build some sort of comfortable home in seclusion from the government.

I would use my powers for evil. No joke. If I am able to abuse or manipulate nearly everyone who is weaker than I am then I'll do it. I wouldn't necessarily just kill, rape, and steal... I would however let the power go to my head and then become an evil person.

Oh I am definitely a real life mutant. Everybody I encounter certainly thinks that.

I really, really wish I was a mutant. I don't mean an extra toe or finger or something either. I'm talking full blown xmenitis.

What would be the most desired mutation? Wolverine's is pretty much unbeatable.

So what if someone found that you were a mutant? What would you do?

^ That's why I'd become a hero if I was able to. To take those who'd cause suffering and pain for fun and shove their heads up their own asses.

if I were one, and depending on the power, I would take sooo much advantage of it.. if I find out someone is a mutant, I'd probably make them my butler(s)

They had a special on last night about the real X-Men on the discovery channel. This guy was going around the world to find people who had amazing abilities. This guy was special himself since he could bend in any postion he wanted too. He went and found a guy that could stick metal objects to his skin and they wouldn't fall. (They kinda compared him to Magneto). The other two guys were someone who could withstand cold temperatures and high voltage electricity. They even had Stan the Man on there.
That sounds REALLY cool...is the documentary really called "the real X-men" because Im going to try to catch it when I can?

If I had superpowers I'd use it to make money and enjoy them. Id go on TV and become a celebrity (Kind of like the Fantastic Four)...OR I'd be a superhero for hire.

Actually, it was called "Superhuman". And I noticed that I put the Discovery Channel. It was actually on the History Channel. Here's a discription of the show.

If you think that people with superhuman abilities are only found in comic books, TV shows or in Hollywood movies--think again. Travel the world and meet the real life "X-Men" and "Heroes" --the people with truly remarkable powers. These include The Real Spiderman, The Real Aqua Man, The Strongest Girl in the World, Million Volt Man, The Real Bat Boy and The Human Magnet. Meet some of these Superhumans and watch as their abilities are analyzed under the microscope--subjecting each real life "superhero" to scientific analysis and laboratory tests to help explain their amazing powers

I'm not sure if it's a regular series, but I just found out you can catch an episode on April 23rd at 11PM on the History Channel.

I'd be a superhero and at the same time become a pro sports player. Just because thats the most obvious way to cash in. Hopefully mutant powers dont equal steriods.

If I had super powers, I'd like to imagine that it would be like Superman's deal, just saving the world and doing good things without any real worries, but I don't think it would be that easy. Why?

1. Hypothetically, if I attain super powers, I highly doubt the government will allow me to just live my life the way I want to. They would most likely want to keep me isolated from the public and then study me. Either that or, use me as a weapon in war, similar to Dr. Manhattan. Or maybe they would just label me as a threat all together and try to kill me off. Who knows...

2. Also, the idea of a “super human” in society would completely throw off people’s spiritual and religious beliefs. I’d imagine people running around saying that I’m the second coming of Christ or something along those lines. Overall it would cause quite a lot of drama in that department; drama that I don't want to start...

I'd almost guarantee that any professional sports league would ban "superhumans" from playing for its teams, as you'd have that "unfair advantage."

I mean, ****, one legless guy was banned from the Olympics because he had prosthetic legs- the ones that look like curved planks- all because they add "spring" to his running ability.

That's just being flexible.

He went and found a guy that could stick metal objects to his skin and they wouldn't fall.

That's just forgetting to clean your hands after you eat pancakes with syrup.

The other two guys were someone who could withstand cold temperatures and high voltage electricity.

That's called S&M.

Because you're the hero we deserve but not the one we need right now. So we'll mock your posts because you can take it. Because you're not a hero. You're a silent Mustela putorius furo. A watchful poster. A SuperFerret. :brucebat:

Or a child of Satan. Imagine how much fun that would be.

I would try to play superhero on the local level and surrounding areas. I'll leave the international crisis to others. I'd keep it a secret and do the same for a friend who turned out to be a superhuman. But if my friend goes on a power trip and eventually turns villain. I'd turn to the government if I had no powers of my own to stop him/her myself. And hell no to trusting the government in helping me out. On the front, they'll praise me for the public but behind the scenes they're plotting against me. Most likely plotting to steal my DNA to reproduce themselves a mass army of super humans.

:bh:

If I became REALLY powerful, I'd paint myself blue and tell everyone I'm Dr. Manhattan just to eff with everyone.

I think it would all depend on what power you had. I mean, I don't think life would be that interesting if you had Cypher from The New Mutants' power.

No matter what power I had, I would use it so it would benefit me. I wouldn't be some villain who tries to take over the world, but I wouldn't be some goody two shoes rescuing people right and left.

So sigging that.

What would/could you do?

What could I do? Nothing I imagine because I reckon trying to find a cure for such an evolved state would be quite futile.

If you discovered that you or a friend were a real life mutant

It depends. If it was some horrible mutation I would freak out and become an absolute recluse. If I discovered a friend was a mutant Id do anything I could to help him/her, within reason of course.

Where would you go?

Don't know. If it was some fantastic power such as the ability to fly or simply super-strength or speed, I would probably become the unofficial "watchman" of my country.

Would you keep it a secret?

Yup, it's a cliche but the less crap people have to threaten me with the better.

Would you attempt to be a hero or villain, or perhaps remain neutral?

I'd be my own law, and do what I thought was the right thing to do. I imagine that would inevitably make me a hero in some eyes, and a villain in others.

Would you trust the government to help you?

No, the government would only have self interest in trying to "help" me, and I'd actually probably be the last person they would see as a priority in helping (behind themselves and the security of the nation).

Who would the first person you told be?

No-one.

Are there any places that might be more willing than others to look into your case and help you?

I don't imagine so,
