okay, the second movie isn't doing so well critically and even commercially and since sony is in deep trouble i hope this means that they would let marc webb, drew goddard, and anoyone behind the projects make some great seriies since either tasm 3 or sinister six seems to be their last shot. if either of them screw up they're ****ed.

personally i for one would love to see a compelling story with great character developments, peter using more of his intellect, peter focusing on uncle ben, gwen, and george and even aunt may, some logic, and some well written villains and for once do not edit everything out. the last two films would've proven to be a hit and one of those revolutionary comic book movies that prove that with the first one you can make it feel more like a film that matters rather than a comic book movie just to add fun and for 2 you would've given alot of characters more depths and emotions which the two of them would've blown the avengers, days of future past, and captain america winter soldier out of the water and you would've been making millions if not more than billions.

A villain with a plan that's actually smart. Also, a villain who doesn't have a forced story attempting to make you sorry for him. Someone who actually feels threatening.

1. Spider-man to 'feel' like Spider-Man.
I'm not talking Peter Parker, I'm talking Spider-man actually having a character rather than purely turning up to fight.

2. Characters I care about.
I want to be invested in the characters so when they are put in danger (protagonists) or have a scheme (antagonists) I actually care one way or the other.

3. Brilliant action.
I want the fights to be kinetic and imaginative. I want Spidey to use the full compliements of his powers; strength, wall crawling, agility, spider-sense.
I want the villain to actually be a threat. I want Spidey to feel out matched so we fear for him.

4. I want Peter to show he is smart.
I want him to use more than his fists to defeat the villain. Whether he creates something in his lab or outsmarts the villain during the fight. Just remind us over and over how smart Peter is.

This is what I've wanted from Spidey right from the beginning but on top of that now I want;

5. Something new and fresh.
We've had Spidey chase the girl for 5 movies now. We've also had the genetic freak 5 times as well. Now is the time to give us something completely new and fresh that we haven't seen before.

6. A gadget other than webshooters.
It's way past time the spider tracers made an appearance. The Peter established in the 'Webb-verse' is more than capable of inventing them.

7. Daily Bugle?
To be honest I can take or leave the DB, we've already seen it and screen time could be better used elsewhere.

neat. i would also love to see jk simmons reprising his roles as i cannot imagine anoyone replacing him like RDJ with iron man and tom hiddleson as loki even hugh jackman as wolverine

i would also want to have some longer and more intense fights scenes. the past two films were edited out by sony so hopefully with some deleted scenes and/or director's cut of the second film we'll definitely some intense action with electro and harry.

i really don't want the film to overmarket itsle fas the second film just spoiled almost everything about the movie even the end fight scene. so i would really love some trailers to show a few bits of the scenes so we can see what the movie would be really like once it hits in theaters.

i would love to hear an actual score this time. i really don't want songs during scenes like when peter was finding something out oralicia key's it's on again. i really want some intense heroic scores even scores with light hearted moments. i love horner and zimmer but someone like henry jackman needs to handle it on the uncut version of the third movie.

i would really want to see peter learning with great power comes great resposibility. in both films w didn't get that thanks to bad editing so hopefully they'll follow the meaning of the phrase and not just say it over and over again just show what the character can do behind the actual meaning.

i would really love it if it follows the director's cut version of the second film. i really don't care if people would complain about not following the theatrical cut but all i can say is to shut up. we need a good movie and we really need a director's cut to ignore the theatrical version of the second film.

i agree with you that i want a more menacing villain this time. as we all know mysterio and kraven aren't the type of villains you can sympathize. all you can sympathize with kraven is his honor being broken by spiderman going to the point of being a mad man. adrian toomes has had some stories where you can sympathize with him like his involvement with aunt may and the fatc that he needed to get money for a few of his relataives in marvel knights spiderman but since adrian never invented those wings it'll obviously go to blackie drago who was just some punk who stole vulture's wings and even looks exactly like adrian toomes in the ultimate version but much younger like in his late 30s or 40s.

they also need to be careful into picking a new MJ as we all know what happened with shailiene. i would want a mary jane who is good looking but not the super model type since you really wouldn't buy that a main character would date some victorian supermodel. so i figured someone like mary elizabeth winstead would handle MJ. i haven't seen enough films from her but alot of people do want her. also, even though emma is out i would really want garfield to try his best into handling his romantic performance well.

I think this series is beyond saving.

Even if they make a great third film, the first two still suck, especially the second. Even the first one isn't that popular among the general audiences or critics. It wasn't poorly received but it also wasn't raved about. People don't even talk about it anymore.

They'd have to do a complete 180 and find the balance between serious and funny, and change the characters again to make them more likable and relatable, and get a better formula for their "villains," which they already completely and totally ruined four of Spidey's most popular and his number one (Green Goblin).
But, if they do that, then they are basically ignoring the first two films and it really disconnects it as a trilogy. We already went from a dark, gritty looking first film to a bright and colorful second movie with over-the-top cheese. It's already inconsistent.

I say let it die for awhile, let Marvel have it and let them start over and really nail it.

yes, but i really feel bad for marc and andrew since these weren't the spiderman mvoies they wanted. and we also know that sony is keeping the rights so since they are not doing so well financially the only hope they can do is let marc webb, drew goddard, and anyone behind the spiderman movies do their thing. they also need to release the director's cut versions and follow those instead of the theatrical cut.

the films were talked about. it's just that they were only talked about for over a week or 2.

i would love him to go back to marvel but i'm not one of those people who want him to be in the avengers. it'd be pretty much saying that daredevil should be part of the avengers

I never want to see this Spidey in Avengers.

I never want to see this Spidey in Avengers.

well i wanted this spidey to interact with chris evans, RDJ, and mark ruffalo even luke cage, jessica jones, iron fist, spider-woman, scarlet witch, daredevil, and carol danvers/captain marvel

after garfield i wantewd dylan o'brian to take over

I want to see Ben Affleck as Batman in a spiderman film.

Why is this even relavent in this thread? This is about what you want in a Spiderman movie, not what you thought of ASM2. There are about million threads where you can complain about the latest sequel.

i like what roberto and alex originally put in the director's cut but i wouldn't want them again in future installments sonce they can be proven to be hit or misses so i say just fire the two and replace them with the guys behind breaking bad, days of future past, the walking dead, and mad men. we just want well known good writers. you do want to keep the rights and earn money so just keep hiring talented people. that what marvel and many other companies are doing it for you know.

They are miss. Their only hits are when Abrams is involved.

Also I wanna see spiderman fight Godzilla and team up with James Bond and the Ghostbusters.

they seem to be hits when webb is involved as well. technically i really don't get who created films? is the mostly the writers or the directors because most people aim towards the directors than writers. but seriously the days of futre past writer should be involved with webb in a spiderman flick.

i would also want to see spiderman teaming up with heisenberg to fight bane and the kingpin.

I also want the city to turn on Spidey as I don't know if I enjoy the crowds cheering him. Spidey is supposed to be misunderstand and an outsider (mainly because of JJJ) but he still fights crime regards. Avengers and Superman should be cheered but it doesn't suit Spider-Man.

tell me about. i mean with both series we haven't had spiderman been getting harrassed by the citizens. in spidrman 1 there were only a few people that hated spiderman and in the fire house scene only a few cops were about to arrest him while in the first reboot he was only chased around by cops. i would like to see the people in new york being debatable about the wallcrawler

I want to see a Mysterio movie and have Mysterio ramp up the hatred by copying Spider-Man and robbing banks.

that would totally work for once. i mean since the film is about peter' road to recovery despite peter fighting crime and cracking jokes and having some daily activies to himself he is still hung up on gwen and uncle ben's deaths. and combined with mysterio framing him and spiderman possibly getting the black suit he might go to a breaking point. i mean in the comics and th tv show spiderman has had some messed up situations concerning his personal life and his superhero life to the point where it drives him crazy.

i would also rather that sony postpones the sinister six since there needs to be more room for mysterio, kraven, and doc ock.

i would also want either the writers of breaking bad or the wire handle the thrid movie

I think that's what I want in TASM3. Reaching a point where we're fully established to the point of Spider-Man (2002) with the added benefit of all that Gwen backstory. So, indeed, Mysterio could be a good pick. Getting more people off side with Spidey and JJJ ramping up his attacks, with Peter finally joining the Bugle. Spidey's name is cleared, of course, but others remain unconvinced.

-The ratio (and quality) of humor and drama from ASM2.
-Peter upgrading his technology or creating something new for the new villain of the film.
-Peter the Lovegod: I'd love to see him with people other than MJ (Betty, Felicia, etc.)
-Ease away from Oscorp as the source for the villain's origins. Considering that Vulture, Doc Ock, GG, and other have been seeded, I'd love for the villains to originate from different circumstances and not be connected to Peter.
-Bugle.
-In the comics and in the preceding films, we're told than Peter's a great photographer. I'd like to see some professionally taken films in the evidence to attest to his skill (seriously: any photographer who's taken a photography class would not be caught dead taking a picture on automatic.) It's a minor matter, but still.

Less humor. They really over did it in the second film. I'm all for a Spider-Man quip here and there, but overdoing it just makes it annoying.

One villain that is the main focus, unless you have villains like Kraven/Lizard, Venom/Carnage and Goblins that could work well on screen together. You can still set up characters for future movies. I think doing that works better. You can really get invested in the character before he/she becomes a villain. It could make the next movie that much more compelling.

I also by the end of the film want to care for these characters. That's what makes Spider-Man 2 so special to me. You really see how much Peter went through and what he had to endure. From not being able to tell Harry/MJ he's Spider-Man to actually giving it up all together.

:up: Honestly, completely agree with you, hard to have intelligent discourse about what someone would want in a spiderman film without it turning into #KillAvi or something.

I'd love to see Mysterio on the big screen, make him a little sadistic, very intelligent. Possibly even against another villian, perhaps that villian wants spider-man dead, Mysterio wants the symbol of spider-man dead, and Peter Parker to suffer. Could be both threatening and muli-layered. I can see the illusion aspect being both a CGI spectacle for Sony's executives to gawk at, whilst still having relevence to the overall narrative.

If they were to implement this in the next film, it would work well post-gwen, heck, Mysterio could even call him out for being a bit of a coward during those five months, maybe someone close to Quinten Beck was killed when spider-man took a hiatus, and Mysterio is sick of the city loving him? Seems like an okay-ish motivation.

I'm going to be annoyed if the next film in this franchise currently decides to go off and do the sinister six in TASM3, would be unforgivable in my eyes.
