Lincoln

Such a great film, Daniel Day-Lewis nailed it as Lincoln and Tommy Lee Jones pretty much stole the show as Thaddeus Stevens. This movie just worked, it's got politics that's interesting and it almost never slowed down the film. Spielberg did it again and my only complaint has to be the ending, it's like the movie already ended but then we get to see what people would expect to see with a movie about Lincoln. That being said it didn't ruin the film at all and to be honest It was a bit clever the way they did it.
9/10

Life of Pi 3D

This was absolutely great to see, Ang Lee did a fantastic job directing this. This is pretty much a lock for winning best cinematography, it was stunning and especially in 3D. I haven't read the book so I don't know how faithful it is but the story was powerful and once you get to the end it just becomes even more powerful. Go and see this in the theaters (and in 3D), it's worth seeing on a big screen.
9/10

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

I still don't get what people hate about this film. True, it's not up there with Raiders or Crusade but I still prefer it over Temple of Doom.

21 Jump Street.... Probably the worse movie of my life until until some surprise characters appeared on screen.

2/5

Silver Linings Playbook
Lawrence and Cooper have a wonderful chemistry as they play characters with mental illnesses. The film is charming, funny and has a re-watchability factor, but unfortunately it squeezes into predicable territory with some downright silly moments.

I'm Still Here
Watching Joaquin Phoenix act like a whiny ***** for almost two hours was tiresome.

The Master
The film is slow placed, dealing with Quell's choices and relationships with this bizarre, but inviting cult. I left with a lot to think about as I couldn't get a general opinion of The Master right away. The film let's you, the audience, figure some stuff out by yourself and you can interrupt fragments of the story in various ways. Some people might find this boring or even frustrating.

Being Elmo: A Puppeteer's Journey
A feel good documentary about living your dream is unfortunately killed with the latest news surrounding Clash which makes you feel detached from the man. Still, getting a behind the scenes look at Sesame Street and interviews with the likes of Frank Oz and hearing about Henson is worth the watch.

The Victim
The film was all over the place. I felt like Biehn was making things up as it went along.

Octopussy - 8/10

Despite being ridiculous at some points, Moore still sells it, even in the clown suit. He's so entertaining to watch as Bond with a likeable presence. I really enjoyed this one.

Star Trek: The Motion Picture - 6/10

JESUS CHRIST people weren't kidding that this is the "Slow Motion Picture." I was praying for a cut, and I'm an atheist.

Tomorrow Never Dies - 7/10

Not bad, just pretty bland. Has interesting ideas but aren't fully realized by a weak villain and uninteresting direction. It's too bad it doesn't have the excitement of Goldeneye or even the intrigue of The World Is Not Enough.

The World Is Not Enough

Star Trek III: The Search for Spock - 7/10

The pacing was slow and uneven at times and it didn't get interesting until Kirk blew up the Enterprise which was bad ass. Christopher Lloyd did the best he could with what little he was given. Nemoy was still coming into it as first time director which I won't fault him for, as I started to watch the fourth film which is significantly better.

MIB3

Actually really liked it

The Silver Linings Playbook. The movie is funny, charming, heartwarming. Lawrence, Cooper and the rest of the cast are fantastic. I'm shocked I loved this film and want to see it again.

9/10

Skyfall: 5/5

Easily one of the best Bond films and one of my favourite films this year. It's a tad behind Casino for me but it's still in my Top 5 Bond films for me. Daniel Craig is definitely my favourite without a doubt and Judi Dench puts in a great performance.

Javier Bardem is a fantastic villain as always. It felt like a great celebration of Bond. Though some of the themes were a bit too hammered in for my liking, but it didn't ruin it overall. The Batman influence is obvious but that's fine by me.
