The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King

Prometheus

Lust, caution (2007)

This was described to me as an erotic thriller. I usually don't like erotic thrillers, since they often fail being good thrillers (or being good erotic dramas). Luckily for me, this story was more of a drama about the events around Shanghai and Hongkong during Japaneze occupation, and focusing of some of the resistance groups while including some graphic erotic scenes.

Good flick, and Ang Lee always fascinates me in his way of chosing quite diverse stories and styles in all his movies.

Heat (1995)

Al Pacino and Robert De Niro as antagonists in a cop and bankrobber story, what's not to like? The first time I watched that classic bankrobbery scene, it felt like a greatly directed warzone between the robbers and cops. It's still a great flick, but Mann have done other great work that tends to get overshadowed by this: Manhunter (the original), Insider etc.

Heat will be up among the great classic heist flicks, though.

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home - 8/10

I really enjoyed this one. Nimoy really stepped it up with a good script and direction of the story. The humor and plot all work as this could have easily been ****ed up but it all works, making this the most enjoyable Star Trek yet out of the originals so far. This and Khan are my favorites as of now.

Skyfall

Conan the Barbarian (1982)

A masterpiece of epic storytelling. It was for fantasy (and 80’s action) what Superman: The Movie was for comic books.

Seven Psychopaths (2012)

I could never believe McDonough would top In Bruges, but he did. Is it funny? Oh hell yes. But it’s so much more than that. An emotional film on all levels.

The Green Hornet (2011)

Meh. It was on TV on the background at a party and I turned my attention to it everytime Christolph Waltz was on TV.

Just finished watching Looper with a friend and HOLY HELL! That movie just totally blew my mind. Just wow, best sci/fi movie I've seen since District 9
