Blade Runner 2049 - 10/10

A masterpiece.

Blade Runner 2049

Enjoyed it more than the original film. Ryan Gosling is a great lead.

Just saw Blade Runner 2049. Excellent movie, the more I thought about it leaving the theater, the more I liked it too, which makes its box office almost criminal. For a 2 hour and 43 minute including credits, it didn't feel long at all. In fact the story flowed perfectly, and if Deakins doesn't win an Oscar for it (which I know at this point he very likely won't), I think I'm going to scream. My only real regret is I wish I could have seen it on the biggest screen possible, otherwise I loved it! I'm definitely gonna check it out again. It deserves repeat viewing. - 9 / 10

Wish Upon

It's a teen horror film that does a horrible job at trying to tell The Monkey's Paw only they substituted the paw with a Chinese box. It's a movie clearly aiming for preteens and teens who's never seen a horror film before. A lot of the stuff here is so bad that it's laughable. There's some bad acting and some ridiculous Final Destination style moments in here (especially the ending :funny: ) . Overall, it's a forgettable horror flick that you will see airing on tv very soon.

The Love Witch

I thought this was incredible. It's a big love letter to the 60s/70s horror films from Hammer and Giallo. Right from the get go you appreciate the level of detail into making it look like the 60s and 70s from costumes, sets, and even the way it was shot and edited. Samantha Robinson gave one hell of a performance as the lead and her ability to act hammy yet serious was great. However there was a couple of things that bugged me, one was the subtle placement of modern tech and products, which took me out for a few moments. I wasn't sure if that was intentional or not. And the 2nd thing was it ran a little bit longer than it needed to be. Overall, I really enjoyed it and I strongly recommend it to anyone who's into old school horror.
9/10

Gerald's Game

Nasty and tense little film. Keen on checking the rest of Mike Flanagan's filmography. 8/10

Oculus is his weakest film but check out Hush, Before I Wake, and Ouija 2 (you don't need to see the first).

I've seen Hush and it was great. I'll get on checking out the rest of his films.

Kept going with my crappy late 80's early 90's nostalgia trip. In the past day and a half:
Cube
Master's of the Universe
Legend
Hellraiser 2
Cyborg
Robot Jox
Arena
Dredd (the good one. I threw a semi current flick in for good measure) :D

Last recent movie i watched is Alien Covenant for DVD the other day. I have about 45 minutes left of the movie to watch.

I actually like it

Who's Minding the Store? (1963)

Death Note (2017)
Blade Runner 2049 3D (2017)
