MORTAL KOMBAT: ANNIHILATION (1997)
QUALITY = 0.00000001/10
JOY = 8/10

First movie is obviously bad, but I can still enjoy it for what it is.

Second movie is entertaining for cracking jokes at it, that is one joke galore. I also like to see an end to a story I like, a closure, not a cliffhanger.

A Wrinkle in Time

Wow. I don't think I've seen crap like this aimed for kids since Sharkboy and Lavagirl. It starts off kinda promising, but after about 10 or 15 minutes, it quickly becomes a $100 million Teletubbies movie. Every piece of dialogue and acting is dumbed down to the lowest degree imaginable. It's crazy to think Ava DuVernay directed this. Every scene feels disjointed and awkward. It just becomes one big effects reel once they get to another planet. Overall, utter crap.

:funny:
I was not prepared for this.

TUMBLEWEED (1953) starring Audie Murphy, Lori Nelson, Chill Wills, and Russell Johnson.

Lincoln - Another rewatch confirmed it as one of my top ten Spielberg film. Extradionary film, and Williams' score and Day-Lewis's performance helps immensely. Love it. -*10 / 10

A by the numbers road trip movie that is lifted by the performances of Tessa Thompson and Whoopi Goldberg. 7/10

Finally caught up on Mike Flanagan's films.

Ouija: Origin of Evil

What a gorgeous film. The first two-thirds of the film dealing with familial drama are fantastic but it drops in quality once the horror kicks off in the third act.

8.5/10

Before I Wake

His weakest film to date.

7/10

Oculus

Loved it. Judging from what I've seen on the web, this one is quite underrated. Mike Flanagan's penchant for manifestations of past traumas shines through in this film.

9/10

I love Oculus (interesting to see that guy from CSI: Miami in there). I own Ouija: Origin of Evil but haven't got round to watching it yet. Look forward to putting that right soon :up:

Hope you enjoy watching it.

Starman (1984)

One of Carpenter's underrated greats IMO. Both leads are fantastic, Bridges especially. A well crafted piece on grief and the process behind the feelings and a view on 'acceptance' of life. 8/10.
