CHANGING LANES (2002)
QUALITY = 8.5
JOY = 7.5

A neatly made movie for sure, but I felt tense watching it, the wrong kind of tense.
I'm not sure whether it qualifies as a thriller or not, I kinda lean toward it does.

JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE
QUALITY = 8/10
JOY = 9/10

I did not enjoy it more than the original, I actually enjoy the original more.

True Confessions (1981)
Bed of the Dead (2016)
Black Panther (2018)
??????? ??????? / Newsmakers (2009)

Red Sparrow - A solid spy thriller that surprisingly is quite hard R, and violent. Lawrence is very good, and I love Newton Howard's overture at the beginning. My biggest complaint however is that I didn't buy the romance between her and Edgerton. It seemed fake, even if that appeared to be the intent. Overall I did enjoy it however. - 7 / 10

The Strangers: Prey at Night

I really love the first movie. If you take out the legit tension, terrific scare moments and sympathetic characters and replace them with telegraphed "scares", unlikable jerks and turn the villains into fake Jason Voorhees morons you get this one. Ugh.

Lucky bastard.

Call Me by Your Name. Beautiful cinematography and music, but otherwise it didn't click with me. Chalamet's performance may be the most overhyped of the decade.
