The Disaster Artist...this movie cracked me up, and it’s still hard to wrap your head around the fact that this was all a true story. Sure, some of it ABSOLUTELY HAS to be embellished, but even still...these are some strange, STRANGE folks man... :lmao:

They left out a lot from the book. There's even more crazy moments beyond the scenes that never made it to the film.

I’m gonna have to actually give it a read then. It’s been on my library list for a while now, but I guess I need to bump it closer to the top.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR
Quality = 9/10
Joy =8.5/10

I was wrong about Ant-Man being the only MCU film that doesn't open with Marvel Studios logo, but with a scene before it, I was also wrong about it being the last MCU movie to open with the studio's logo being pretty simple.

This is another good Cap movie with great action, but this time I thought it was my least favorite Cap movie. And while the action is great, I'm not a fan of all the destruction caused in the Bucky chase scene, or the airport battle scene. At least they're addressed and the characters deal with repercussion of things. I love the climax battle between Cap and Steve, and the opening battle in Lagos.

I appreciate that it starts like a Mission Impossible movie, and the arc of the Black Panther for this movie. I also don't mind that Wanda dropped the accent.

How I rate them as far as joy goes this turn:
  1. Captain America: The Winter Soldier - 5/5 Shields
  2. Captain America: The First Avenger -- 5/5 Shields
  3. The Incredible Hulk -------------------- 5/5 Gamma smashes
  4. Iron Man 3 ----------------------------- 5/5 Shellheads
  5. The Avengers -------------------------- 5/5 Shawarma
  6. Ant-Man -------------------------------- 4.75/5 Anthony
  7. Iron Man 2 ----------------------------- 4.75/5 Shellheads
  8. Iron Man ------------------------------- 4.5/5 Shellheads
  9. Captain America: Civil War ----------- 4.25/5 Shields
  10. Thor ------------------------------------ 4/5 Mjolnirs
  11. Avengers: Age of Ultron -------------- 4/5 Language
  12. Guardians of the Galaxy--------------- 3.5/5 mix tapes
  13. Thor: The Dark World------------------ 2.8/5 Mjolnirs

Stan Lee cameos:
  1. Iron Man: Hugh Hefner. in the party Tony danced with Pepper in.
  2. The Incredible Hulk: Gamma blood victim.
  3. Iron Man 2: Larry King. Somewhere after the hearing I think.
  4. Thor: Trucker trying to lift Mjolnir with his pick up truck.
  5. The First Avenger: Admiral in the honoring of Captain Rogers.
  6. The Avengers: Old guy playing chess in the park doubting the existence of superheroes.
  7. Iron Man 3: Some old guy raising the 10 score board at some weird show.
  8. Thor: The Dark World: Patient who wanted his shoe back.
  9. Captain America: The Winter Soldier: Museum curator afraid of getting fired.
  10. Guardians of the Galaxy: Some old guy Rocket checks to see if he's wanted and the price on his head.
  11. Avengers Age of Ultron: Old guy at bar who tries Asgard brew.
  12. Ant-Man: Bartender we see near the end and don't hear his voice.
  13. Captain America: Civil War: Mailman from FedEx calling Tony Stank.

The setting is really good but the sanitized rating really hurts it and it loses it's way in the second half of the film with one dull set piece after another. 6/10

Ladri di biciclette / Bicycle Thieves (1948)

I think this one is underrated, the setting is great, it's lean and atmospheric and I love how Laurie takes the fight to Myers. 7.5/10

Deadpool

Watched it with the Ryan Reynolds, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick commentary. Great stuff.

Diehard with a Vengeance.

It's good but this is where I feel the formula changes a bit. The first two movies have Bruce Willis basically operating alone and limited to the same location. Here we add Samuel Jackson so it becomes a buddy action film. We also move around NYC so the characters aren't confined.

There's an alternate ending on youtube.

The recommendation I strongly received is "Avoid Requiem", and I think I will listen to that recommendation.

Is that the one Martin Scorsese remade?
